Hi All, Before ny re-install I saved all mail box folders.
Do I just drag them were they need to go, if so what folder do I put them in ?
Ted
Not sure, what program are you using? (I use Outlook, so I just work with the outlook.pst or other backed up file)

Ok Thanks Andre, I am using OE.

Sorry, I shall have to wait for an Outlook Express expert to come along then. Have you tried googling it, or checking the MS help area?
Andre
I haven't used Outlook Express for years, but from memory isn't there an import feature in it to bring the files in?

Thanks Andre, I have 'googled' it and there seems to be a way to import the files but I will get some expert help before I try that :)

Hi Paul. Yep there is.
Our posts were posted at the same time.

I found this Ted:
Close all programs running on the system.
Click Start.
Click Programs.
Click Outlook Express.
Click on the File menu located at the top of the Outlook Express screen.
Scroll down and select Import.
Scroll across and select Messages.
Outlook Express will then request you to choose the type of mail files they are.
Select the version of Outlook Express that you have installed (http://xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1922594,00.html) and click Next.
Outlook Express will then ask if you want to import from a main identity or a mail store.
Only select the Outlook Express Store Folder option if you have moved your *.dbx files after exporting them. If you have moved your *.dbx files to another folder then select the Outlook Express Store Folder option and point Outlook Express to the folder that contains the *.dbx files that you want to import. Otherwise, leave the default setting and import your email from your main identity. If you have multiple identities you will be prompted to choose which identity you want to import your email from.
Ah, I knew that technique worked in Outlook, but wasn't sure about Express. If that fails, you could also try this: http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/backup/partial.htm

I've done this a few times moving Outlook Express mail folders from one PC to another. Just put the .dbx files in a folder somewhere on the PC and then use the Import option. When it asks you for the files, browse to the folder where you've put them and away it goes. Once you're happy they're there OK you can delete the folder and contents (or use it to create a backup)
