deleted photos need help

I connected my camera to the laptop (operating system windows vista) through a usb lead a message box said that this file couldn't be opened even though i'd done this before, so closed message box, disconnected the camera and there were no photos on camera at all which were all stored on the SD card, is it possible that it is on the laptop somewhere?

I would imagine they are stored in you computer . Do not use the memory card just in case as they are recoverable from it providing you do not use it again until you have them back. Someone with better knowledge will be along soon I am sure.

Do a search on your computer for *.JPG and *.JPEG

tried searching through whole laptop but no joy so tried cardrecovery.com site so a big thankyou as we now have all of her photos back.

good im glad to here that you have them all back i lost all mine not so long a go and i never got them back i think they mite still be on the old computer i have a new one now but when i come back from orlando in seo i will get it fix my god i had 3000 pic on it
