Hi all, I'm having a problem with my computer!!:( I'm currently sitting in an internet cafe to do my Dibbing!(otherwise I'll get withdrawel symptoms!) I know the site was down Yesterday morning, but I still can't log on from home? I keep getting an error message saying the site cannot be found? am I sure it exists?? yes I'm preety sure it does! am I using the right address, yes I'm preety sure I am! and then it says that the site in not encrypted so I can't use it??:mad2: I've refreshed my browser, deleted cookies ect, I've even turned off my firewall, but still no joy! I contacted bt broadband and they couldn't help! so you lot are my last chance! I've emailed Stu to let him Know what's happening, what else can I do? I don't know much about computers, I mainly use mine for Dibbing and booking cheap flights, all I know is that it was working on Tuesday night at around 11:30pm but was down when I tried to log in on Wednesday morning at 7am?? please help! (p.s. I can use all other websites with no problem, it's just the DIBB!)

We had a problem with BT broadband not letting us get to some webpages just like you are. One webpage we couldn't get to was bt.com LOL.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with BT and in the end they had me change the user name in my Broadband box to bthomehub@btinternet.com

You get to your user name by going to your BT Home Hub web page and then going advanced and then clicking on Internet. Ours said bthomehub@btbroadband.com and it needed to say bthomehub@btinternet.com.

I think you can change it if you hit disconnect. I cant remember really sorry. Someone else may be able to tell you how to change it.

Try rebooting your Router, ie switch it off at the mains for a few minutes then switch back on, if you still have problems then you'll need to contact your Internet provider.

Right, good news, I'm back on the Dibb from home!! this is what I had to do - I had to back up all my files then restore my computer to it's original state from when I first switched it on, then I had to reistall the internet and so far so good!! apparently I have a problem with windows vista which is not uncommon according to my brother, it's refusing to update and things like that! not that I have a clue what he's talking about of course, the only thing that concered me is that I could not DIBB!! thanks to everyone who tried to help, I know it can't have been easy trying to explain things to me because I don't know anything about computers! I'm off to catch up on all the posts I've missed since I've been of line! thanks again, Sarah!:wavey:
