Does anyone have any recommendations for the best airboat rides in Orlando??
Also, are insects a problem when on the airboat and if so, any recommendations for a good repellant??
We love airboat rides. Such a really fun experience and we`ve always seen plenty of wildlife including `gators. We always go to the East Lake Fish Camp location at Boggy Creek. www.bcairboats.com I am fair skinned and always get bitten easily, but I can honestly say that whenever we`ve gone on an airboat ride, although there are insects, none have ever bitten me or bothered me, thank goodness. ;-)

6 of us went on this trip this morning and it was a great experience.. I really really loved it..well recommended and the people there couldn't be more friendly or helpful..they have an 11ft gator for you to look at whilst you wait too
Our personal favourite is Airboats at Midway (http://www.airboatridesatmidway.com/). Sure, it is quite a way from Orlando but it's a great ride down the St Johns River.

We did the evening trip with boggy creek airboats. Really enjoyed being out in the dark and saw plenty of wildlife. Insects not too much of a problem if you keep your mouth shut when moving at speed. I did, however, feel something on the back of my neck during a slow section through some reeds. When I brushed it off it landed on my knee, turned out to be a small lizard!

Boggy creek was good, but we saw gators everyday swimming down the canal when we stayed in Rotunda, bit scary as I kept thinking we might end up with one in the villa, but that never happened the times we were there!
We went on the largest airboat in florida in myaka state park, but at a leisurely 5 miles an hour was a disapointment!
