View Full Version : Road Tolls
Hi Dibbers,
We're Disney virgins and will be visiting at the end of April - early May. I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on road tolls. we are flying into Sanford airport and need to get to Howard Johnson Enchanted in Kissimee. Will I need some loose US change to pay for these tolls and how much do they charge? Also does anyone know a site or can anyone help me draw up some kind of itinery? Everyone seems so helpful in these forums so i hope to hear from some of you soon.
We are SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED.
Thanks Dibbers,
Glenn T

From Sanford using the Central Florida Greeneway (toll road) the tolls will be about $5 dollars in total. Each toll is anout 50 cents or $1.
There are three ways to pay.
Electronic - which won't affect you or me it's for locals mostly.
Automatic - you just toss the appropriate coins (no notes) into a net.
Manned booths where you get change. The manned toll booths will not take anything larger than a $20 note (bill).

If you go into Mapquest.com,you will be able to get driving
directions from Sanford Airport,to your hotel.THe drive through
the Greenway is very easy, but watch your speed as it tends to
be covered by the florida highway patrol. It takes about 55 minutes.

Further to my previous post if you go to www.kissimmee-us192.
com you will find full details of the road, well worth spending some
time on this site.
WELCOME TO THE DIBB, GLENN!! :D :D :D
... regarding an itinerary... I suggest you get a guide book ... my favourite is the (very detailed) Unofficial Guide (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764526316/ref=sr_aps_books_1_1/202-8771942-0941419) , which will actually provide complete touring plans for each park! The other you'll see a lot of on the boards is the Brits Guide to Orlando & Walt Disney World (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0572026498/qid%3D1078689713/202-8771942-0941419) ... I got both!
Read the trip reports, especially any for the time of year you'll be going.Make copious lists and ASK lots of questions! None are daft!
I love planning! Good luck & enjoy!

You can also avoid the tolls roads totally and cut across to the I4 - depends what time you're arriving (avoid rush hours!!)
