Apart from going to see Tampa Rays play, are there any good games being played in the Orlando area during August? would love to see a game and although we will be in Clearwater for 4 days the Rays are playing away then!!!

Not a lot of baseball is played in the Orlando area as such. Nearest games that I know of without doing a search would be at Lakeland Flying Tigers ground, the Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, south of Kissimmee. This is Minor League games.
Lakeland schedule for August http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/schedule/index.jsp?sid=t570&m=08&y=2008
Clearwater Threshers schedule http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=t_sch&cid=566
Tampa Yankees schedule http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/schedule/index.jsp?sid=t587&m=08&y=2008
Hope this helps

Thanks Stuart. Will check them out. I think we will probably just make the journey back to tampa in our last week though. The kids would kill me if we did not get to see a big game.

I would love to go see a game. Might look into going to one next year. I think it would be a great experience for the kids.

Definitely a great experience for kids. My 11 year old has become a fanatic. Especially since we bought the MLB game for his PSP. Knows all the teams and star players now!!

My oldest son is a massive fan of Devil Rays. We order our tickets from UK by phone to Tropicana Fields and collect on the day of the game from a special booth.
We have also been to Lakeland to watch the Lakeland Tigers - you can getting money off coupons in the local press - the Sentinel I think. Smaller ground and not so busy but only 1/2 hour drive from H27.

Sandra, what do you think if the Minor League games. We actually prefer them TBH, much cheaper and totally chill out atmosphere.
We have been to Lakeland and Tampa's Legends Field where the Tampa Yankees play.
Thinking of going to Daytona's Jackie Robinson Stadium next April, the Daytona Cubs play there.
Oh yeah,..........welcome to the Dibb.
