Title says it all really. DD has deleted something she shouldn't, is there any way to get it back?
A friend recommended a free programme called Recuva but that didn't find anything.
Anything else I can try (that won't cost me anything ideally!)?
thanks.

Have never done it in windows (used to be easy in the old dos days) - when a file is deleted it is not erased but marked for overwriting - as long as nothing has been written over where the file is it can be recovered
This article (http://www.tech-pro.net/how-to-recover-deleted-files.html) explains it - has a link to recommended trial software, although any trial software does not usually let you use it to the full extent and have not tried it
good luck

Thank you, I'll tke a look there.
Here is a free utility that might help http://officerecovery.com/freeundelete/
Although as georgemac says, if that sector of the drive is over written then it will not be able to be recovered.
