Mrs Greyfriars and I are frequent visitors to Orlando. We are taking our Grandchildren 6 and 7 to Disney from 2nd to 12th December. :omg:
We have 10 day base tickets and a one day Seaworld.
We are also planning to take them to Blue Springs State park to see the Manatee and do the wildlife cruise.
We are staying within 10 Mins of Animal Kingdom. It has been 15 years since we took our teenage children to Disney so are rather vague about a suitable itinerary for young children.:erm:
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Do your grandkids know they're going? (so many people seem to surprise the kids! - I couldn't keep it quiet if my life depended on it!).

If they do, why not show them what the choices - let them do some of the planning - you'll get an idea of what they like and what they don't. Then put your itinerary together based on what they seem eager to do (you can add the rest and downtime in, I think at that age, they might forget that!!).

I'd imagine at that age, they will also want to do some things over and over again (Buzz Lightyear springs to mind.....!), so I think you'll need to be very flexible once you're in the parks.

If they haven't been before, they may be worried by some of the 'dark rides' from the outside (because they can't see what's going on) so if you've any videos you can show them of what's inside, I'd suggest showing them. It's worked for my nephew and nieces. I've also 'spoilt' some of the surprises for kids that have been with me, especially the drop in Pirates for a very nervous niece!

Enjoy! Both sets of grandparents have enjoyed Florida with our kids (and as I did with my grandparents) - it makes for some wonderful memories.
