Hi :wavey:
I have been looking on the internet for a few different things to do this time, and the skycoaster has caught my eye. :D
I just wondered if anyone has done this, and if it is as scary as it looks? :erm:

I did this with my friend the 1st time we went 8 years ago (not been brave enough to do on my own!) and it is fab!!!
We did it at night which was fab.
Whenever I hear Sweet Home Alabama it reminds me of that night as it was playing while we were being winched up! The only thing that has put me off doing it again is that I couldnt pull the rip cord and noone else will go on it with me !!! (wimps!)
Would definatly recommend it!

I was terrified going on this a month or two ago - was with two other people, and my whole body was shaking all the way up. But it was the most amazing feeling coming back down! We did it at night (12:05am) too, and I don't think it would've been quite the same during the day.
Go for it. :)

I have done it twice. Has to be the best ride ever. The one in Old Town is the largest Sky Coaster in the world and is probably the closest you can get to free fall without jumping out of a plane.:thumbs-up

Ooh, it sounds really scary, but weirdly appealing. I do really fancy it, but probably when I see it I may chicken out.

It is scary when you look at it but in a really exciting way as well!
I did love it and then feeling when you have done it is amazing!
You can get a DVD done but think its quite expensive!

Done it a few years ago and yes it is very scary!! It is amazing though and like someone else mentioned the scariest bit is pulling the cord that lets you go, that was my job and I was terrified. Do it at night too, better atmosphere:thumbs-up

Hi
My boys and their friend done this 2 years ago they went up in 2's they said it was the frightening thing they had done. They said the seconds whilst waiting to pull the cord and then the freefall was really terrifying. They also done it at night we bought the dvd's its great to see their faces.
When these 2 boys went about about 5 mins later they got all the way to the top and the cord wouldn't work they had to lower them down they looked absolutely terrified.

2 years ago you say? I may have been in the queue at the same time! The guys before me went up, something went wrong and they weren't releasing so they got lowered.
That got me worrying so I decided to go get a refund instead :D
I'm up for anything, but if something looks broken, or on it's way out, it's a different story. Can't wait to go on it in a few weeks though :)

We were there sometime between the 23 Aug and 7 Sept I cant remember the exact date but my boys also said if they had been behind the boys that got stuck they wouldn't have gone on either. They thought it was well worth doing but if you saw their faces on the dvd you wouldn't think so.:)

I have done it several times, and it's amazing. The first time I was scared even on the way up, but my son pulled the cord, but on another holiday I went with the son of a friend of mine who was quite small at the time, and I even managed to pull the cord myself. It gives you a real buzz. As others have said do it at night though.

I've only done it once. I was supposed to do it with a friend but she wimped out and I had to do it on my own. It wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. Although it would have been nice to have someone with me when I was screaming my face off:pgig:

I have done the skycoaster a few times (once with my sis, and other 2 times on my own!).
Absolutely love this ride, it is such a thrill...... highly recommend it!
Especially great in the night, when you can see for miles up there with everything lit up!
However it is still terrifying just as you go to pull your rip cord!

I did it a couple of years ago, only the girls were brave enough, the men kept their feet firmly on the ground. The worst part for me was going up, the going down was amazing.

Here you go Tazman, have a read here. Its not something we have had before but we are intending on doing some beyond the parks stuff next year and if you are willing to put some busy days in you can get some good value for money.
Make sure you read all the discounts you can get for a 14 day period regardless of how many days you purchase the card for. I would reccomend downloading the pdf booklet its very informative.

I really want to do this with my BF but I don't think I can bring myself to do it. Does it take forever to get winched up or does it seem like an age? That will be the worse part for me and I just KNOW I will start bawling and he'll be laughing! :confused2:grin:
