I have been vising this site for a couple of days, and the information here is exceptional.
I am a single mum, and will be taking my 3 daughters aged 3, 7 and 10 on our very first holiday to Disney this Xmas. I have been saving for years for this trip and now have £5500. Ideal l would like to book a villa, as this would be more spacious for the 4 of us but lm worried about the security. Will l be safe alone with my 3 girls at a villa? General how safe is Orlando, especially during the festive season? Any advice and survival tips will be much appreciated.

Lisa.

:wavey:Hi and welcome to the Dibb :wavey:

There are many villa owners on the site who will help you, you will find most Villas are in gated communitys and very safe:smile:

Have a great holiday:spin:

Hello and welcome to the Dibb Lisa.:wavey:

The Disney area in general is very safe and many of the communities are gated.

The best thing to do is to put an enquiry in the requests/offers page and mention your concerns.

Have fun with your planning.

 hello and welcome to the Dibb!

A villa would give you plenty of space and most also have a private pool. Many are on gated communities so access is restricted for security. Ask owners on here for an idea of availability as Xmas is a popular time to go, I'd get it booked ASAP as well as flights if you haven't secured them already.

Happy planning!

Hi and welcome, as long as you are sensible, i think orlando is as safe as anywhere else, I'd rather be there than visit a major city over here!!

Hi Lisa, :wavey:
Welcome to the Dibb!
You will have a great time at Christmas, its such a wonderful time to be at Disney.
I have always felt safe in Orlando, whether it is in the parks, in the shopping Malls, walking along International drive or even an evening stroll around the villas. Even the drivers are so much more courteous - I don't think the Americans know what road rage is!

Hi Lisa and welcome to the DIBB.

Before you decide where to stay, are you planning to hire a car? If not, you might find it quite difficult to manage in a villa. I know lots of people on here will say it is do-able, so they might be able to give you more advice.

Have a great time whatever you decide!

Welcome ! I personally think you will be fine in a villa especially in a gated community .I can see the benefits of staying onsite if you are on your own but the pool safety and the relaxation of keeping your eye on the kids is so much better in a villa imho.I have 3 kids and I always know where they are in a villa . Happy planning .

Hi Lisa and welcome to the DIBB.
We have always felt pretty safe while on holiday in Orlando, and I have no concerns about going off out on my own in the car day or night. Booking a villa gives a family lots of flexibility, and I hope you have lots of fun planning your families trip to the magic.

Hi there Lisa ~ welcome to the DIBB... :wavey:

Your kids are really lucky to have a mum like you! I think you will have a fabulous time.

You might feel safer in a Gated Community possibly although I have never felt unsafe in Orlando so I think you and your family will have a great vacation :D

Hello and a very warm welcome to the DIBB.

We've never had any security issues while staying in villas and as others have said most of the communities are gated. Communities such as Lake Berkley are great as they have a security guard as well as gates. Some communities just have gates and a keypad. Happy planning. x
