My family and I arrive on October 17 for a two week vacation staying at the Pop Century Resort.
Was wondering if anyone could tell me how busy the parks are during this period?
Thanks!

We are also going in October and found a website to tell you the best days to visit the different parks. It says that October is one of the best months to visit the parks.
These are the days to visit the theme parks and avoid the queues:
MK - FRIDAY
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS - ALL DAYS EXCEPT FRIDAY AND SUNDAY
EPCOT- SUNDAY
AK- SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
TYPHOON LAGOON - MONDAY AND TUESDAY
BLIZZARD BEACH - MONDAY AND TUESDAY
US - FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
IOA- FRIDAY AND SUNDAY
SEA WORLD - MONDAY, TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY
WET 'N WILD- MONDAY AND TUESDAY
BUSCH GARDENS- ALL DAYS
KENNEDY SPACE CENTRE - MONDAY, TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY
We followed this website's advise above in 2006 and found this worked for us.

They'll be busy, but not as bad as they will be at the moment.... You'll still have to Q for rides, but they'll be relatively small Qs (ie: probably less than an hour for the more popular rides). But don't quote me on that, i'm just going on experience from last year. We aimed to arrive at the parks at opening time as we could almost guarantee walking onto any ride that we wanted for the first hour or 2.

We've been at the end of october for the last 2 years and found it is best to go earlier as its a lot quieter and then go back in the evening. I think the longest we waited was about 90mins

We went in October last year and as above we found getting to the parks earlier was great as there were very few queues and going back later in the evening.
It's a fantastic time of year to go! :thumbs-up

I found this via Google - not by month, but a good indicator all the same:

We go every October and the parks aren't too bad. Although the parks are busier when English schols are off (last two weeks in Oct).
Weve never found it a big issue though.

Another vote for going early in the day. It did seem busier last Oct than the previous year but could be something to do with the excellent exchange rate. Even the Americans were saying there seemed to be loads of Brits about! Still a great time of year to go.

October is great
Busch gardens hardly any queues, same at Seaworld.
Disney, a lot of the queues look long but then you realise they have closed off a load of the queue line and are not using it, so the line is a lot shorter than you think.
If you get in at opening and use the other tricks, like fast pass, doing rides during parades etc then the queues really are very manageable on the majority of rides.
We were in at opening one Saturday and did Space Mountain (twice), Splash Mountain and Rocky Mountain all in the first hour without breaking into a sweat.
Are the Water parks and pools warm enough in October? Not really into the British thing of ''refreshing'' swims.

You may have to pick your days for the water parks. There are many very hot and lovely days but others that cool down a bit. We went to one water park and only the Brits were there because they were the only ones who found it warm enough! It was fine, the water is heated and the day got warmer as it went on and turned out fine.

Water parks are fab in Oct still loads of sunshine and the temp is brill.
Until this year Ive only ever been in Oct and having witnessed June I can defo say parks are less busy in Oct. They do tend to build up more close the half term hols tho.

EPCOT is busy on the weekends where they have the Food & Wine festival so I'd go on a week day.
We found the parks quite busy but then we had only gone in February previously.
I refuse to queue for anything if it says over 25 minutes and we still did a fair bit so it cant have been that bad.

We went in October 2006 and it was fine, longest queue was about 20 mins. We are going back in October - hopefully it will be the same again.:cool2:
