Hey :)

I'm considering booking this as a suprise for DBf.

Can anyone who's done this tell me a bit about it? What time does it start? It says on the website it's 4 1/2 - 5 hours.

Would love a rough idea of what you do just so I can decide whether to go for this or something else.

Thanks :D

Hi Sam

I have done this tour and have to say it was brilliant. I don't want to say too much as it will spoil it for you. OUr tour started at 8:30am Lunch is included at Columbia Harbor House and was really nice.

If you do a search for other threads there have been a few.

Do you actually get to go into the utilidors?

I have heard that you do but the Disney site doesn't mention it

I've booked this tour for Oct 3rd! Did a short version of it in April when I was there on a working trip, and I did get to see the utilidors! It was a fascinating insight to the park, and I would recommend it to anyone (over 16 of course)!

My DS isn't old enough so we might have to go back next year especially to do it! The day that we fly home is his 16th birthday! :( xx

Yes you do, a limited tour but it's fascinating.

I would recommend this tour, it was one of the best things we have done at Disney

We did it last year and it was brill. I would recommend it to anyone. You find out loads of information about Disney and MK, it has made us look at MK completely differently as we keep looking for things that were mentioned on the tour. Lunch is included and you also get a special Keys to the Kingdom pin.

We were on it for 5 hours and we got to jump the queues on Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion and then we got to go down into the utilidors.

It was excellent.

I did this tour 4 years ago with DH and we both thought that it was fantastic, we spent a while down in the utilidors.

I have just booked to this again now that our DD2 is 16 and it something she has wanted to do for the last 4 years. I am sure that she will love it and as you walk up Main Street in the future you always remember what you have been told on the tour.
IMHO it is worth every penny for the insights it provides into the history of the Magic Kingdom and the day to day workings.

Utilidor is the Disney name for the corridors which run underneath the park to allow the cast members to get from place to place without having to go through the park itself - Utility corridors hence utilidors

Keys to the kingdom is $60 and you book it by calling 001 407 939 8687, runs at 8.30, 9 and 9.30 daily I think (not quite sure on the times) and need to be 16 at least to go on it.

other tour for families is Family Magic Tour ($27 each and last 2 1/2 hours)

This may be a silly questions but does it ruin the magic of magic kingdom if you go behind the scenes? x

I've done this tour too with my hubbie. We both thought it was great and would recommend. There was two tours, one starting at 8.30 and one at 9am on the day we done it. Lunch included in price. You definitely learnt alot about the park etc.

We booked a couple of months in advance but I think you can book alot more earlier than that up until the day if they have vacancies.

And Tilly it never spoilt the magic for us. They tell you facts about the parks, history etc and show you a 'little' of the backstage etc but they are careful not to give too much away and spoil you experience of the park in general.

To be honest it only makes you appreciate the park even more, you won't believe some of the things you find out.

We did this tour on 16 July, and it was something I was really looking forward to, but we had to wait until this year when DS was 16.

It was absolutely brilliant. Although we knew quite a lot about MK etc, we still learnt some new stuff and it doesn't spoil the magic at all.

It is about 5 hours long, and you do get lunch included, and it is well worth the money IMHO.

Go for it!
