Niece is having probs with her laptop, she has an Advent , not sure the model No.
Her screen when she turned the laptop on is blue, i remember my desktop went like this and i needed a new heatsink and fan, could this be her problem, she has nothing of importance on the laptop so should she try a reinstall and format it .

Do you know which graphics card she has?
The reason I ask is that there is a known fault with Nvidia 84XXX and 86XXX cards overheating and failing.

Denny Crane, no do not knowhat card she has, and will not see them till next week, will check it when i see her.Have read quite a few reports about this laptop and people having problems.
