I'm not going to be driving when I go to Florida and I've already booked the shuttle bus to take me & the kids to BG for the day. I'm thinking about booking an overnight stay near to BG (so that I can spend a second day there without having to travel again), and wondered whether I would be able to take the shuttle bus, stay at the park all day then get a taxi to my hotel, go back the following morning and take the shuttle bus back to I-Drive that evening? Do you think this is a bit cheeky?!

Has anyone else ever done this?

I think that is quite a good idea, however when I looked into staying near Busch Gardens the only place I could find that looked like a decent place to stay was Hard Rock in Tampa, think there is a holiday inn also. I think it would cost quite a bit in taxi fares to get to Tampa from Busch.

the shuttle is a regular service between seaworld and Busch, I am sure as long as you tell them, you could return the following day.

if you google for Busch Gardens Preferred Hotel, then a few nearby hotel come up.

Someone recommended a hotel on here last week - I think it was Hyatt Place Busch Gardens. I looked on their website and it said that they were only half a mile away from BG so a taxi shouldn't be too expensive. The hotel looks lovely actually, I'm not sure yet if we will go overnight as I've got so many other things to book first ie. RPR hotel, Dine with Shamu, serengeti safari etc so it depends how much money I can save.

Thanks for the replies:)

Yeh, it would make the day far more relaxing knowing that your just a few mins away from the hotel. Busch is a big place to do in just one day, we tried and failed.:)

That's what I thought - I've been listing what we want to do in each park and there's loads that the kids want to see & try in BG. As we are getting the shuttle we wouldn't arrive until approx 10.30am then we'd have to get the shuttle back at 6pm. I'd rather take my time over two days, hopefully I'll be able to save enough cash to book one night at the hotel.

Just a thought but where do you put your overnight luggage?

I was hoping they would have lockers in BG - I'd only need a rucksack with a change of clothes and a few bits of toiletries, I would keep the majority of my stuff in the hotel on I-Drive. Can anyone confirm if there are lockers in BG?

Yes they're not far from the entrance.
