Well, the time has come that i feel very unorganised by looking on here and have decided to start our first draft of our may 2009 plan, this is our first time going and need some direction if anyone can help :D

Friday 1st May - Arrive at Four points at Sheraton Studio City at around 17:00 - any ideas what to do after we arrive? we havent hired a car so dont really know where to go.,,

Saturday 2nd May - Epcot all day.

Sunday 3rd May - Animal Kingdom

Monday 4th May - Discovery Cove (already booked for this day)

Tuesday 5th May - Our little rest day well for us a shopping day!

Wednesday 6th May - Magic Kingdom

Thursday 7th May - Seaworld

Friday 8th May - Universal Studios

Saturday 9th May - ?

Sunday 10th May - Busch Gardens

Monday 11th May - ?

Tuesday 12th May - Disney Studios

Wednesday 13th May - ?

Thursday 14th May - ?

Friday 15th May - Going home :( 18:50 flight home :(

As i am going to be 23 and DF is going to be 27, we dont really want to head to magic kingdom first as we are more excited by the thought of going to Epcot, we are not really fussed on going to the water parks, we still havent added in IOA, so any advice? Any suggestion will be greatly recieved :)

Thanks! Gem

Hey there.

May is a great time to go. We went in 2005 & it was brilliant. If you get to the parks for opening, you can do all of the big rides first & then have a more leisurly afternoon if you want, knowing you won't end up in big queues for the major attractions :thumb:

The evening you arrive you could play minature golf, or take a trip up/down I-Drive on the I-Ride trolley - there's so many places to eat and it'll help you get your bearings a little. When we arrived we unpacked, had a walk up/down I-Drive, had a meal, then had another wander. Just enjoy being there before you hit the parks :D :D

We never have rest days either - however - when we go for 17 nights next year we're going to slot a few non-park days in, as we'll be able to do all of the parks & have a few days 'spare'. If there's only certain parks you want to do, then it's a good idea to space some 'spare' days in - you'll probably find when you're there that there are other things you find to do, places to re-visit, etc.

I would slot IOA in early on if I could...only because we love it there & we like to go twice, once again towards the end of the holiday!! Maybe switch IOA with SeaWorld and put SeaWorld on the Monday 11th????

Hi there,

DW & I went for the first time in May 08 for 3 weeks, both aged 30. We had a great time, the parks were not too busy and we managed to do all of them in 1 day no problem. The weather was great and from what I have seen on here and heard from others May is a great time to go.

I would deffo advise doing Epcot first. IMHO it is a little less overwhelming than the others and breaks you in gently. Had I done others first I may have been a little disappointed compaired to some but it is still very worth a visit.

Deffo do IOA.

We found that we were in the parks for them opening and were often there until closing. After 3 days of this we needed a rest day which normally consisted of long lye in and then a breakfast at dennys (yum yum!) and an afternoon shopping, playing a round or two of golf or an afternoon at a waterpark. Rest days dont have to be spent in your villa or at the side of a pool, just a long lye and a slightly slower pace!

We also visited Boggy creak which could be done in an afternoon on a rest day.

Kennedy space centre is also worth a visit.

We had a hire car and to be honest I cant see how people manage with out one but plenty people do.

Have a great time and don't forget to tune into k92fm and get yourself a cowboy hat YeeHaaa, I know we did!!!!

I am in the process of trying to suss out the possibility of us going again next May.

Hello - thank you for your reply, as we are on our own we take things slowly and more calmed pace in the parks etc, on our rest days we are going to have a good lie in have some breakfast, and then go shopping later in the afternoon, and obviously other people are different, but this is how we chill out together, when are you off?

You read my mind! this is exactly what we are going to do, be there early and stroll around until late afternoon early night, DF doesnt like big rollarcoaster so we dont need to queue up for them  Have had a word with DF and have guessed too that we will go for a walk down Inter.drive and go for a meal - i didnt really know where to put IOA and will take your advice, because although we like the idea of seaworld its not one of the main attractions that we would want to go to, not that we dont want to go there but we are more inclined to go other places first - thank you for your reply :wavey:

We were really lucky and booked just before the prices went up, and have booked with TCD, DF asked if i would think about going aas he really wanted to do to epcot and a week later we were all booked! :D and obviously this is why we are doing epcot first, but also that everyone says its a good start and it is more a leisured pace, Your rest days are exactly what we are going to do, because this is our idea of a rest day with the lie in and the shopping in the afternoon (so glad they all close around 9pm from what ive heard?!) We havent hired a car this time around, we are going to use the i-trolley etc, but we are pretty easy with transport etc so i dont think this will matter - well i hope not anyways! :thumbs-up

Gem .it doesnt matter what your age is, that trip to MK is just touching. I was 38 first time.
May I suggest doing EPCOT over two days. Its a big park and we find doing it in two halves means not missing so much. Stay for the fireworks on the day you do World Showcase.
Also notice you have no visit to Hollywood Studios planned, It'd be a shame to miss the Fantasmic show on your first trip. Its also a great park and although the movies theme is basically the same, its very different to Universal and a better park IMHO. The Motors stunt show is brilliant.
