My wife booked the "rookie experience" for me as a surprise 40th present about three months prior to going (early july).A fantastic treat and it really is worth it, make sure you buy the in-car dvd of your "race" to show friends/family.
One more point DW had a bit of trouble booking on-line ,she had to make a phone call and book.
Excellent experience , Highly Recommended!!!

Hi Jisselle, welcome to the Dibb.

Depends on when you go. The schedule for next year wont be released until around end of November.
Could I also suggest spending that bit extra and letting your hubby do Daytona rather than the track at WDW, thats if they are sheduled to be there at the same time as yourself. And with it being the HQ of NASCAR too.
Ive done the ride along at both tracks and WDW just doesnt compare to Daytona. The speeds are much higher, and those 31 degree bankings...........like doing the wall of death.....totally awesome.

When are you looking to go??? if its next year you should give them a call as i dont think the the on-line booking system goes beyond the end of this year.

For a NASCAR fan (we are both nascar fans) Daytona offers a far better experiance than the Disney Speedway (does cost slighty more though) and of course whilst at Daytona you can do a track tour and visit Daytona USA..both of which are good.

As much as I love cars and I have heard great reports about this, I would rather be driving the car rather than sitting with someone else in control.

Maybe its a man thing?

Wouldnt argue with that, but its all down to cost really and the time will come for me eventually.:grin:

You can drive the cars but it aint cheap.:omg:
As a UK stockcar racing fan [and occcasional racer in a time long long ago]I just wanted the experience of riding around the stockcar mecca that is Daytona.
Another of my lifetime ambitions realised.

Grand Canyon and Valley of the Kings are next on the list.

I've done the ride along a few times and HIGHLY recommend that you go to Daytona for it. It really is a huge difference.

As for the driving and not riding along bit of it I can tell you that although you may think you'd like to drive better you actually wouldn't get the total experience by doing that. I've had family that did get to do the driving (it was a work day out) option and they actually have a pace car that rides in front of you and if you get too close you get flagged and have to give distance. He said that he was never able to get the car up to the speed that the ride along program does. He also commented that his ride along drive got closer to the wall than he ever could.

Both great options because being behind the wheel is great but I think for a real feel of it I'd go for the ride along again if given the choice.

Also, don't think that Daytona is only for the person doing the ride along. Daytona USA is a great place to visit and they have several things to do there. You can also get a ticket to watch while the ride along happens and also do the track tour. It's a really great day away from the parks/Orlando.

We booked the Rookie Experience for DS2 18th Birthday present and he thought it fabulous although he did say he enjoyed the Segway Tour at Epcot more:confused2

I booked the Kings experience for my DH 40th back in January for this April. He had no idea that's what he was doing but he thought it was fantastic. I think the fastest speed he got up to was 136mph on his last lap. You basically follow a pace car round and they judge what speed they think you are capable of doing. My DH was hooked and want's us both to do it at Daytona next time we go
