We are eating here on our 1st day but I know parking is a bit away from the lobby. So I thought that we could park at the Poly and monorail it to the Grand Floridian, then monorail onto MK and return to Poly after wishes. Can we get off the monorail at the GF and has anyone done this or got any better ideas?

Strictly speaking you shouldn't be able to park at The Poly if you're not a guest or don't have an ADR ( for Ohana, for example).
You could say you "wanted a look around" I suppose and they'll probably let you in.
Once "in", again the rules state that you should only park for a couple of hours, although they don't always enforce that.
When we had dinner at 1900 PF last year we used valet parking - just pull up outside the door and let someone else worry about the parking ;)

We ate at this breakfast a few years ago & don't remember the parking being a problem or too far away.

In December I think valet parking was $10 and it was fantastic. I loved pulling up to the hotel and just jumping out of the car and leaving it with the valet parking team. Made me feel really posh and was a really good price too. From what I remember if you pay for valet parking once in the day you can go to another resort and use the valet parking there without paying again.
