has anybody been to universal studio recently? these rumours about the mummy being open are they true? we have 19 days to go heres hoping

They are talking about soft openings for April (fingers crossed) and it too open properly in May.

Heard employees have been testing this out last week, some of the major effects are missing though and one of them, some sort of CGI film integral to the ride has been delayed, last I heard they were aiming for May 19th!!! About 5 days after we come home :-( Just hoping it's like when we went to Busch not expecting Rhino Rally to be open then they handed out preview passes and we were the first to ride it!

Hope it is earlier than the 19th May because we are only doing the Universal parks from 12th to 17th May, but seeing we are in Florida until the 23rd it would be well worth an extra day to try this ride.

Arghhhhhh disaster, sounds like I will be going too early to catch the ride (unless we happen to be there on a test day) :-

After several days of testing Revenge of the Mummy with employees, it seems Universal Creative has made the move to open the ride in the late afternoon for a brief period to park guests. Even though the ride is still in technical rehearsal and many effects are still not installed, we’ve heard that they are expected to continue to open the ride up in the afternoons on any given day between now and the planned grand opening date set for May 21st.
