I find it fairly tame compared to ToT and it's theming. You get a great view of IDrive form up there - albeit for only a few seconds. Give it a go!!

I agree with ncoathup, this is a fairly tame ride.
When your fired upward you get a great view of the surrounding area

Likewise, l didn't do it my boys did and they thought that as well although l have a great shot on Video of the youngest who was eight at the time with his eyes tightly shut and hanging on for dear life LOL Bless him though he went on all the biggies even the really big slide at wet and wild, his poor face on that on the way down is something l will never forget.

I will go on all the rollercoasters, but I chickened out of this one in 2002. I need to do this one this year.

p.s. Lisa, it looks like we are there around the same time.

Go for it! My teenage daughter went on it & loved it. Agree not as good as ToT but worth a go - just for the view!!

You can see the pub from up there.
Good ride but a wee bit tame. go for it!!!
Yup I agree, it's tamer than ToT, it doesn't do such funny things to your tummy. It's more the thought of being fired up and the waiting than the actual ride.
Go for it ;)

I think the view from the bottom looking up is even better:wink
Nah not for me!!!!
Hi Paula,
We're in Orlando from 25th Aug - 8 Sept (we're in Sarasota for first week) so if you fancy a meet let us know :-)
I think Detonator in Thorpe Park is a lot better. Dr Doom is tallers but you dont seem to fall that far.

The sensation at the top is brilliant, you lift off your seat for what seems like ages, but is only a split second. View is fantastic once you get the initial drop over with!
Cheers,

was great apart from my middle dd screaming and screaming and screaming????
Do it like the lifts in canary wharf, sensation for a few seconds and then its over.
Didn't manage tower of terror last year but will compare the two this year.
I absolutely hated it! I break out in a sweat thinking about it. I'd much rather do tower of terror and I'm scared of that also.
I found it really boring. Nothing like TOT where you go up and down a few times. This was just the once so wont be bothering with it again.
I felt this was a lot worse than ToT (done this 5 times), Only been on DrDooms once, that was one time too many in my view.
Definetly worse than any coaster in Orlando:confused2

Never been on it, but found The Detonator incredibly boring, so if it's not as good as that, then I don't think I'll bother.
Isn't it funny how differently we all find the rides.
Craig (Jubes) I'll be really interested in hearing about the Atlantis when you're back, got that one eyed up for a holiday one year.
Hi Jo,
Will do, not long left now. I have been told it is quite expensive when you are in the resort, but you only get married once after all:D :D

It looks amazing though, you'll have a fabulous time there, and it's your honeymoon, so you won't have time for spending!
Fraid I can't comment on the 'you only get married once' though :D LOL
Cheers Jo,
I will post some Pics when I get back - riding down the flume thro the shark pool:eek: :mad2:
