View Full Version : Tips for Seaworld
Hi Guys,
I'm hoping to compile a list of members tips for each of the parks and thought I'd start off with Seaworld
So if you have any tips that you would like to share we'd love to hear them.
a couple to start you off
1. If you are a Seaworld Annual Pass Holder, show your pass at the feeding stations and save $1 on each tray of fish.
2. Avoid Wild Artic straight after the Shamu show finishes as this is the next attraction in line and lines become very long.

3) a Seaworld Fun Pass is only $5 more than a one day admission and is good for one calendar year. A great deal if you think you might like to go back more than once - even just for a 2nd evening.
4) Don't miss the Clyde and Seamore show - it is very funny and well worth watching

Bev, do you mean the Pre show?
as yes, it is really worth getting there 15-20 mins before the official start time just to see the preshow :)
If you are going for a single day visit www.seaworld.com to buy an e-ticket and save $5 each.

Don't miss the sealions at feeding time. You don't need to buy fish - just watch. They are hilarious - shouting, waving and lunging at the ibises as they try to steal the fish.
Don't miss your free beer at the hospitality centre. Go throught to the bar at the back - there's a better choice there (apparently - shall be trying this time). OK so it's not beer as we know it but it suits the hot weather!

The free beer is great (very refreshing!!) BUT don't forget your ID if you look under 30. My mate is 31 but they still wouldn't give him a beer because he looked 'under 30'.
You need to be over 21 to drink in Florida, but they apply a rule that says if you look under 30 you need to show id.
Get a free beer at the front counter in the Hospitality Centre and then go round the back of that for another free one :-)

If you visit the beer school you get lots of samples as well as a sit down for 1/2 an hour, if it is hot this can be a welcome break. It is also quite fun with a certificate and free(small) gift afterwards.

Don't miss SeaWorld's two main attractions - 'Kraken' and 'Journey to Atlantis' :D :D

We thought the whole show was great Stu - for some reason we didn't see it on our first 2 trips to Seaworld as it's right in the back and we overlooked it - so when we finally saw it, we were kicking ourselves for having missed it previously.

wear gloves when feeding the sealions, those birds hurt when the pinch the fish out of your hand(like razors!!):confused2
1)Arrive early and ride up front on Kraken. My kids were able to do this twice before the queues began to build.
2)Beer School has been already mentioned -well worth visiting if only to get the free beer and 'graduation ' certificate, and free key ring
3)Arrive early for Shamu and unless youre keen to get soaked, avoid rows 1 - 14
4)Atlantis is another great ride -dont think it is all over once youve done the 1st descent:wink
5)The animals -well they are what you really go to see!!

If you have young kids, the kids meals come in a Shamu lunch box (which is a nice novelty souvenir, if a little bulky - use it to pack something else in when coming home :))

A Seaworld Silver Annual pass costs $89.95 and will give you full access to Seaworld for a year.
A one day pass costs $53.95
If you like Seaworld and intend on visiting this park more than two or three times then a Silver pass is excellent value.

We've just been looking at Seaworld.com Bob, and decided to do exactly that. We are going in May and November so will def get the best value from the Silver Annual Pass, especially when you factor in the free parking and dining discounts.

If you go on Atlantis (highly recommended) be aware that there are no lockers and you do get very wet. Take a black refuse sack and put your belongins in your rucksack and the rucksack in the refuse sack; you still get wet but your cameras etc stay dry. OUr car had so much water sloshing around that we got wet almost immediately. At the risk of revealing a spoiler, the big drop is not the wettest bit either, the smaller drop after it is much worse.

My top tip ....
Go to Seaworld on a weekend or Bank Holiday if there is one while you are there. As there are only two 'rides' there is very little to queue for (unlike other parks) so it doesnt matter if the park is busy, plus the Shamu show is better when there is a large crowd as its certain there will be some unsuspecting people in the splash zone!

Go to the Shamu show early....there is a great pre-show where they film the audience responding to a quiz which is shown on a big screen, and the unsuspecting audience is then shown on the screen. The cameras tend to pick out those who are doing strange things..last time we were there a guy was filmed picking his nose...completely oblivious to the fact that he was up on screen. Then his wife noticed and nudged him and the look on his face was a picture. The audience was in fits. We love this bit....what saddos!:D :wink
If you have a child who is right on the height limit, go to kraken first thing ( when your child is taller) they will issue an armband so that they don't have to be measured every time. My DS used to shrink 1/2 inch during the day!!

Just a piece of mozzie advice -i f staying for the laser fireworks show, remember to pack mozzie spray DS1 and I got bitten to pieces here.
