Morning again Dibbers!!

Advice Please!!!!!!

My family & I are trying to select one or maybe two Dinner Shows for us to take in whilst in the Land of the Mouse - suggestions & experiences please. So far we've nailed it down to the following three possibilities

1. Arabian Nights as the wife likes horses
2. Sleuth Murder Mystery - as we both like a who-dunnit!
3. Pirates adventure - as both my daughters fancy the after show Buccaneer Bash disco

We may also take in the Magic show at Wonderworks purely for the "All you can eat pizza" but we can book that when we're there. We're also tempted with Dolly's Dixie Stampede!!!
None of us fancy the Medieval Times dinner it just didn't appeal to any of us.

Decisions, decisions.........HELP!!!

Ooh, not heard of the murder mystery one, that sounds like fun. We have never done any shows like this before so I am afraid I can't help with the enquiry but will also be interested in any responses. There are so many to choose from.

Morning Boomdocker!!
The Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows are about $40 per person. They have a rolling schedule of different plot settings, requires lots of audience participation with some audience members getting cameo roles to play out. It really does sound good & the food is quite decent too (apparently!!) cornish hen, prime rib, lasagne etc etc - -plus copious amount of wine, beer & soda (hic!!!). They have a web-site at www.sleuths.com if your interested & all the action takes place within staggering distance of where we're staying on Carrier Drive

We have just booked to go the Arabian Nights on the 4th July, as we wanted something organised for that date and my daughter loves horses. At the minute you can get a free VIP upgrade that includes meeting some of the horses and free drinks before the show. You should check out their website for details.

I have never been to a diiner show....I was under the impression the food was a bit bog standard at these things and therefore overpriced. If I had to choose one though it would have to be the Pirates one, especially if we got to dress up in a Pirate costume!:wink

l heard the food was a bit poor at these things. Don't forget the rodeo's if your wife likes horses. Use the search button and it should bring up some info

Have any dibbers actually been to the Sleuth Murder mystery thingy as my Mum really likes the sound of it - but I'm convinced as mentioned above that these types of shows etc. are over-rated & OVERPRICED.............

Can anyone help????

Sorry I feel as if I'm hijacking your thread Chris - but I did a search & yours was the only thread that came up!

I would reccomend the Pirates we had a whale of a time there, the food was a bit well rubbish, but the entertainment made up for it. I thought the Arabian nights was truly awful food and entertainment wise.

Check this out - due to the wide diversity of likes/dislikes in my family we have now opted for the folllowing:::

Me - Sleuth's Mystery - sounds good & I like Cluedo!!!
DW - Arabian Nights - she's a horse nut!!!
DD1 - Pirate Adventure - I'm sure she's only looking at the Pirates!!!
DD2 - Dixie Stampede - purely for the variety & she fancy's seeing ostrich racing

So given the above I've booked for the whole lot!!! That's 4 meals sorted out of the three weeks!!!

We went to Arabian Nights because the tickets at themeparkland.co.uk were £14.25 which seemed very cheap. It was a good show, very american at the end to the point it made me feel sick. Wouldn't go again but good for one visit.
Hope to go to Sleuths in November hope we don't get force fed over the top american patriotism with our food.

I've been to both Slueth's and Dixie Stampede. Both of which are good. Going to these places you need to go into it understanding that they are feeding a mass audience so you aren't going to get an upscale meal. It is supposed to be the entire experience and not one element of it.

Sleuths Mystery theatre is good but small. It doesn't hold the crowds like the other facilities do. Don't go expecting a huge theatre. It is more intimate and may provide a better experience for some. The stage is simple and you must rely on your imagination to fill in the gaps where sets do not. If you have an Entertainment discount book you can save $7.50 instead of the standard $4.00 coupon.

Dixie Stampede is good and quite large. Arrive early to enjoy the pre-show entertainment so that you can get your money's worth from it. Please note that no alcohol is served at Dixie Stampede. You do eat with your hands (old prarie style) so bring your own knife and fork if you chose to leave your imagination at the door. Also, the show does end with a patriotic note so be prepared if this is something you aren't up for. However, it is tastefuly done. Also, the standard $4.00 off coupon applies as Dixie Stampede has yet to be a part of the Entertainment book.

Having said all of this, and growing up in Orlando (30+ years), I will be visiting BOTH Sleuth's and Dixie Stampede when we are on holiday in December. Out of all of the choices I personally feel that these are the 2 best dinner shows to take my family (who has never been to Orlando) to.

Enjoy!
