That's not a bad price at all for a grand bahama, and you will get loads of towels !

Been three times now and going back next year again.

Just on your original post, you do realise this is a condo and not a villa, don't you ? There is loads of room inside and the condo's are all fitted out to a very high standard.

There is a dibber who is an owner (Joanne) who I'm sure will be along shortly to give you any more info you need.

Has anybody recently done the 'turn left out of Bahama Bay' turn and got a short cut to the 192. I remember there being something on here a while back about the road that was so much quicker to get to the 192 but occasionally people were stopped as there was a 'road closed' sign. Looking on Mapman's map, it is up and running but is it quicker?

we did the turn left last year everyday until we were told the road was still closed and could get booked for travelling along it, it is much quicker you get to the sherberth road turn off much quicker.
staying in Bahama Bay is just great you'll love it

How long are we talking to get to Sherbeth Road? We think it was about 15 mins to get to Sherbeth Road using the north up US27 and then along the 192 for the shortcut but if the 'turn left' road is open next year, it may be worth following that route if it is so much quicker.

Turn left as you come out of the gates and head up to the new road (fully opened). The way my DH drives it was about 5mins to the 192

As the previous dibber has said it takes a few minutes to get to the 192 then a few minutes more to the sherbeth road turn off, coming back was easier as you didn't have to cross over the busy road in the dark(can't remember the name of it) although the new road wasn't lit when we went on it but it probably is now as it is open

Don't forget that once on 192 you can turn left onto 429 to get into the back end of Disney property at the next junction. Its a toll road so you have to pay a dollar but it gets you there very quickly.

Hi

I'm stopping at BB next year so help is appreciated. I'm looking on Google maps and I can't see a Westside.

Coming out of BB turn left on Florence Villa Grove Rd and this brings you to a T junction at Armadillo Ave. Turn left here and the road becomes N Goodman Rd. Carry on up here and you come to Funie Steed Rd. Turn right here and continue along going under the 429. You can then turn left into Formosa Gardens Blvd and then right on the 192 , or continue along to Entry Point Blvd which leads to the 192 opposite Sherbeth Rd.

Is that the way people go or am I missing something?

Funie Steed Road is not open yet.......just a dust track despite my sat nav telling me to turn right up it :spin:

Go right to the end of the road where it connects with 192.

I suspect that by the time I return next July all these roads will be open :D

Dismum...I've just got home and noticed in my e-mail box that you've already sent me a copy a few months back. Thanks for the offer anyway.

So I can see Westside on it. I just need to know when the turning on to Funie Steed Rd opens. Is it a dust track that is passable or is it likely to be fully operational by next April?

I'm staying at Bahama Bay in a few weeks and I am a bit worried about getting lost. It's just me and the kids so I won't have a map reader.

we just came back on saturday and we got upgraded to the Grand Bahama room. It was fantastic and cant say anything bad about the resort. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very spacious. It was just me and my bf in this 3 bedroom and we felt that we were rattling around the place :D compared to our flat in London which feels like a box now lol. Loved it and very tempted to book again for next year. We have defiantly fallen in love with this resort.

Publix is about a 10 minute drive on the US 27. Disney is about 10-15 minute drive away (with the short cut that people were mentioning before me) also really easy to get to Bush Gardens from here if you get the I-4 from the US27 (if you are going). Its a very quite getaway specially when you have come from a busy theme park day.

The only negative is it felt at times that it was really far away from Universal but its easy to get there from the I-4 so its no biggy.

so have a great time :D and let us know what you think when you get back :D

so million big thumbs up from us :D

Are there lifts at Bahama Bay?

milly
22 Sep 08, 08:13 PM
I'm afraid that there are no lifts in the buildings so if you are on the top floor its a bit of a trek with suitcases.

However - the apartments are lovely.
We styaed here in 2004 in a Grand Bahama 3 bed condo (booked a silver 2 bed and were upgraded on arrival!).

Some pics of our apartment:-

and me.......feel like I could draw a map of the area in my sleep now :D

Honestly, a day or two there and you will feel like you have lived there all your life......if you are really worried about directions, get yourself a sat nav unit.....a huge walmart is ten minutes away (or less) and sells them very cheaply.

They do have some guys at reception who will take your cases if you ask.......or if you are worried about it, ask for a ground floor unit.

Joanne, you really will have to upgrade your unit to a grand bahama now I've seen those pictures :pgig:

Since he offered - you would be better at asking Robert for directions than me!! I do directions like a woman

That's why we bought a ground floor - because of the stairs and cases and buggies!!! But feel free to ask for help although they will prob expect a tip like most

I was looking at those pics too thinking I would love a double sink in my condo!! Still - the shower will fit about 3 people in it so no probs there! :spin:
