yay....just got back from USF and we managed to ride The Mummy!:):):)
As we entered the park Mark asked at Guest Services and they said it would open around 12 for a couple of hours. Great excitement all round!
At 12 we legged it to where King Kong used to be and there are great signs up for The Mummy...you cant miss it!
Theres a warning outside that 'people pf certain body dimensions' may not be able to ride so Mark sat in the test vehicle but the restarint seemed ok...phew!
The inner queuing area is wonderfully themed like the inside of a tomb of course, with pillars and heiroglyphics and statues etc There are also a couple of little tricks to keep you amused along the way which I wont spoil for you!;)
Then its into the cars. There is information that not all the ride's details are entirely finished yet, but it was still amazing:jump:
The cars fit 4 across and I think 4 rows down. Mark was fine getting into the seat but did have trouble bringing down the bar far enough to satisfy the staff :( I hope they're planning to arrange some larger seats for people!
Then we were off!
Its dark, its spooky and its amazing! It reminded us a bit of the Spiderman ride (without the glasses) There are all manner of things to make you jump a bit but its not terrifying for kids......and it doesnt go upside down much to Becky's pleasure:)
the worst bit was the scarab beetles all running at you at one point (not real but horrible)..I closed my eyes then...........then you're rushing backward, then foreward into a coaster type part of the ride:).....the best bit was when you seem to fall into a pit of fog...fantastic!:jump: :jump: :jump:
This could be my new favourite....do it when you can!
We screamed our way round and loved every minute...we'll be going back next week;)
any questions?
