JP,
the ride is good - as must do really - it starts off as an off-road jeep safari & ends up as a raft adventure. The ride lasts about 8 minutes with the driver giving some amusing spiel throughout the ride - you've got to check it out. The queues do get long so maybe make this one of the first things to do when you arrive, this also gives you a better chance to see the animals before it gets too hot & they look for shade!

I'd love to give you an answer:(

We've tried twice now to do RR. The first time it was down due to technical problems and last year it was down as it was flooded two days earlier by torrential rain:angry:

Do you think we could be fated never to experience the ride?

First time we went on was in June 2002. We waited an hour.

We went in February and it was empty. We were the only ones in the jeep. Although at that time of the year the parks are empty we did get there when the park opened.

If you are waiting at the gates for the doors to open and you go straight to RR you should have no problem.

The ride is pretty good but they do seem to have a lot of 'technical' problems with it. We queued for about 2 hours to ride and to be honest it wasn't worth that wait.
If the queue is less than 1 hour, then it's worth the wait.

l think that was the only ride we really had to queue ages for, it must have been around 40 minutes and that was in Jan/Feb. It was okay but there a much better rides to spend your time on.

Rhino rally was good but not brilliant, we queued for an hour shortly after it had opened,

It does seem to suffer a lot of technical shutdowns and was closed for quite a while after one of the Landrovers turned over.

... one hour?... TWO hours?.. Nothing is worth an hour IMO, let alone 2! Having said that, I'd like to do RR, but I won't wait more than 20 minutes or so for anything these days... there's always something else to do.

We were the first people to ride it back in 2001, we went when it was due to open and managed to get the first ride when they decided to 'soft open' it to guests that day, we even managed to get on the first vehicle out, we felt like royalty! In truth it's no match for the Safari at Animal Kingdom, good laugh and enjoyable if you don't have a long queue though.

We waited 30 minutes for it in early September 2002 and, while it was worth it, it is not as good as the AK safari. It has less animals but is more a thrill ride. Go for it if the queue is short but be warned, the queue is slow moving.

Mike Jones, I agree with you about long queues, but I would also hate to come home having missed a spectacular ride which is why we persevere, dont think I could do two hours though, I think just over an hour for T2 was the most plus another fifteen mins in the preshow area.
