I'm considering bookinjg the wife in for a Driving Experience - (it'll be the cheap 3 lap ride-along one!!) when in the Land of the Mouse - as she is a bit of an adrenalin junkie like me!! Has anybody experienced ('cuse the pun!) said ride???:confused:

ive done it and it is brilliant its over very quickly though but its a great ride the speed is incredible and you can buy some great photos of yourself going round the track.

I had a Richard petty Experience last September. I too thought about doing it at Disney until I heard that I could do it at Daytona. It cost a little bit more but when you're doing 185 mph round the world's most famous racetrack it makes it all worthwhile! I can thoroughly recommend it.

I was going to do that experience myself but stopped at the last minute. I spoke to a number of people before i went that had done it and decided to pass. The majority didnt enjoy it, mainly cause you was stuck behind a pace car and couldnt overtake or anything.

I was also told that you dont get to a massive high speed. I do a awful lot of driving and reach speeds as high as some of the people on the Richard Petty driving experience haahh.

However saying that, if you dont drive much at home im sure you will enjoy it. There is one over place that does it where you race against another set of amatuers with overtaking aloud etc etc.

If you go into Google and do a search on Richard Petty Driving Experience you will find loads of links to other places, opinions and thoughts.

I have done it twice and have taken two other people to do it as well. Without a doubt it is FANTASTIC!!!!! My 3 lap ride along was at the Daytona Speedway and not at Disney's track.

If you are at Daytona and doing the ride along there isn't a pace car to keep behind. My driver had the car at 163 on the back stretch.

The do take your picture as you get into the vehicle. The ticket also comes with entry into Daytona USA which is also worth stopping at.

The Disney track is mainly used for those that are doing the driving program. They have to complete the course at Disney before they can advance to Daytona (depending on package purchased).

No matter which track you are at the ride along is well worth it if you are in the need for speed!

Thanks - don't think we'll have time to take in Daytona this year, but I will keep it in mind. All looks very favourable so far so will take the plunge & go for it.
