When the World Showcase opens, go round anti clockwise.

It seems that more than 50% go round Epcot clockwise, so you hit the rides in Mexico and Norway earlier than the crowd.

Has worked well for us in the past!

We used Epcot as an 'easy' day - did Future World in an afternoon (barring Test Track - 160 minute long queue and no fastpasses) and stayed for the fireworks. Never got back to do World Showcase :(

Have found Pooh, Tigger and Piglet in the gardens at the back of the UK for photos and autographs. Was very quiet so DH and I even got our photos taken!
Also with Illuminations check wind direction so you don't lose your view of the center of the lake through the smoke and also don't get covered in smoke!!!

Take the time to pick up an entertainment guide for World Showcase the acts are amazing.

But for me the No.1 tip for World Showcase is take your time. Don't just walk around the lagoon viewing the fronts of all the worlds. Behind each is a myriad of fascinating things to see, do and taste. Take time to appreciate the culture and architecture and talk to the cast members. They are all natives of that particular country and love to share. If you're just there for thrill rides you'll be disappointed. But there is so much more if you take the time.

If you have small children then take them to the different stations where they can add to their masks. This keeps them entertained whilst you can have a little time to chat to cast members.

Get there early and have breakfast overlooking the fountain. It's a great view and sets you in good mood for the rest of the day.

Watch out for the birds though, they seem to have taken a liking to Danish Pastries! :D

Epcot is our favourite. We love the fireworks and you must be aware that people start to save their places very early on. If you want to get a great view, try waiting around the lake (opposite end to America). They used to rope this area off to stop people bagging spaces and then just before the fireworks start, they let everyone in and if you are quick, you can get right next to the railings for an uninterrupted, personal show.

Test Track is a favourite but tends to be a bit temperamental. It often runs out of fast passes - so don't leave it until after lunch in busy seasons.

Mission Space - we were one of the first to ride! DON'T eat just before going on. It is a very different experience. You don't go upside down or anything (it's not a coaster) but you feel like your eyebrows are going to meet your ears! Cool graphics - very realistic.

As for Ice Station Cool - last time we went (August '03) there was no snow or ice for that matter. We like the Chinese drink! Can't stand the Israeli one.

Check out the shows that are playing around World Showcase. Some of these really add a different dimension to an otherwise seemingly "boring" walk to the kids. There are acrobats, belly dancers, comedy shows, the "Beatles" and lots more. We always missed the shows and then one year decided to "do" them. We like the Aztec show at Mexico and the Japanese drummers.
