Dibbers,

Has anyone been there? I went on my first week and to be honest found it a tad boring. It cost about $40 for me and my wife.

At first you enter a large lobby where you can take all the pics you like then after that you go on a tour, but cant take pics or anything.

I was just wandering what over people thought about it, as it didnt really do much for me.

We spent a few hours there on the day that we came home last time. We enjoyed it, especially the 'chill-out' room with the big leather sofas.

Our tour guide said it was OK to take photos even though you're not really supposed to but perhaps that was because there were only 4 of us on the tour?

I'd agree though that it's fairly pricey so you need to spend a while there to feel like you've got your money's worth. We used a discount coupon from one of the books, I think it was about $28 for the two of us but I can't really remember now:confused2

We also used a discount coupon. We were there for hours! I loved it. Some of it was so sad like the original letter that Buddy Holly wrote to his mother days before he was killed.

I also liked the music timeline which featured the first Sony Walkman. We have the same one, got it when they were a novelty, having first seen them in Japan before they were out in the UK.

I can understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea though. I don't think our kids would have been that impressed, either when they were younger or as the teenagers they are now.

On our last day last year it was pouring with rain so we spent a couple of hours in there. We did enjoy it, and found the exibits very interesting and also the tour. Probably wouldn't want to go again though.

We went to the one in London and it was free! The vault was really interesting although it was only small, and my kids had their photos taken holding buddy hollys guitar, and even though they had never heard of most of the artistes, they enjoyed it. the guy who did the tour was really good, and that made a difference I think. My son was very fascinated with Madonnas bra!!

lol we did that one too! Becky got to sit on Jimi Hendrix's sofa and hold Kurt Cobaimn's guitar! She was thrilled :)

I think it depends on whether you're into music or not - Zach is really into it and he thought it was excellent - we used discount coupons so it was only $22.

We were there for about 1½ hours altogether.
