On the day we arrive we will have time to visit a park from late afternoon onwards, so have bought an extra day on our hoppers to cover this.
We're staying offsite and the date is late July. Has anyone ever shown up at the MK at this time of year and found it was full to capacity and therefore closed to new arrivals??
And if so, is it usually OK to get into Epcot or MGM?
Unless it is a national holiday like 4th July then you'll be ok, crowd levels have been down for a few years now. Although the parks will still be crowded they shouldn't be so crowded that they close.
4th July, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, then it might.

Hi there!
We also fly out at the end of July (29th in fact) - we've opted to go straight to MK on the Friday (30th) as it is recommended as a "light" day - we'll wait & see!!
just as a point of interest they closed both MK & AK on Monday!!!!!! We drove past the WDW turning on the I4 and there were big signs up telling people! It has been incredibly busy over the Spring break though...........

 Eeeek!! I hope that it's a bit quieter next week!!
good luck because the crowds are horrendous at the moment! The CMs did say this is the worst week though :(

Just got back and yes AK and MK were closed by 11am I think it was. We were at AK and it was simply horrendouse. Fast Passes were 3 hours plus and there was simply not enough to do when the park was at such capacities. The whole experiance was not one of the best! In fact my Brother in Law got it right leaving at mid-day to go and watch the Football (Chelsea Beat Arsenal and I am an Arsenal Supporter!).
Busch Gardens reached capacity at 10am on the Tuesday as before Easter as well.
Just a thought but with the exchange rates being so favourable to Brits at present more Brits are going to Florida. Also it makes it far more expensive for Americans to go overseas so I wouldn't be surprised if more Americans than usual are also going to Florida at present, hence the increased volumes.
Also watch out for Thunder Storms in the evenings. I went one night and it was great as so many peole were leaving the parks I thought it was going to be empty! Oh no, Space Mountain still had 1 hour ques (at 9pm) and all the fast passes were out (the park was open until midnight - Easter Monday). Anyhow when there are Thunder Storms all the outside rides close. I waited in the pouring rain with one cast member for Magic Railway to open again ( at least I was front of the que when it did!) and rode it three times without getting off (had to get my monies worth!). I then rode Splash Mountain with one other person before heading off to Space Mountain again. Space Mountain had an advertised que time of 55 minutes but in fact it only took 15. I guess this was because of the rain a lot of Fast Pass people had given up and gone home. So the above took one hour to do.. Sometimes rain does not stop play!
On the rain front when I drove into the car park the water was sprayed over the front of our MPV! and the puddles in the car park completly covered my trainers on a couple of occasions. Great Fun!!!!
We are at WDW now and the parks are fine. They are not too busy. MK is still the busiest and will always be as it is the most popular.
We have found that DS and Epcot are really quiet in the mornings with Mission space being 10 min wait until about 10:30 ish then it gets busier.
Getting there early is always the key.
It hasnt rained at all in the two weeks we have been here and it is getting very hot now. There have been reports of a few Brush Fires and they are a bit worried if it doesnt rain soon that they will have more.
We went to Typhoon Lagoon yesterday and they had sunbeds available all day. They are normally gone by 11am. The park wasnt that busy and we could walk on to most of the slides.

The week following Easter turned out not to be too busy, and the week following even quieter. My fears were unwarranted!!
