Please help!!

My family and I arrive at Orlando Airport on the 1st May 2004 and we are going by coach to our hotel the Disney Port Orleans Riverside.

We have never travelled abroad before and a bit confused on what to do about nappies and things.

Can someone let me know is there a shop in the Disneyworld complex that sells nappies, as our youngest is being potty trained now and still needs them at night time, to save us having to travel out of Disney to find a place to obtain them.

We don't want to take to many with us from Gatwick London for the space they take u with luggage. So prefer to take some and buy more when we arrive. Thank You - Julia James

Hi - you and your family will have a great time.

There will be a store in Port Orleans that will sell essentials including nappies (diapers to use the American) HOWEVER it is likely to only have a small range and might not have the size you require. At each theme park there are fantastic (by UK standards although some are better than others) child care facilities where you can purchase additional nappies along with food, milk etc. It is obviously cheaper to buy in the supermarkets but you will be able to get them.

Having said all that, I would still recommend that you take your own if you can, if only because you can use that space in your baggage to stuff with your other purchases on the return trip.

Have a great time. WDW is the only place I've ever visited where I went with high expectations and they were all exceeded!

Hal, Thank You ever so, much starting to panic a bit as not long to go. My kids are 8, 5 and 2 youngest will be 3 at time of travel. Potty training now so with any luck she will be out of nappies. Staying for 2 weeks so would need a hell of a lot of nappies just in case she is still in them. Heard of Goodings supermarket opposite Downtown so if desperate may have to get a taxi to get them. If you have any other tips then any advice will help. Thank you - Julia

What is difficult to appreciate as it is your first time travelling abroad is just how big WDW actually is (bigger than London). Having to pop out to the shops if you don't have your own transport can be expensive. Not necessarilly more than hiring a car - but because it will cost you for that trip it will seem it! Check out other threads on whether to hire a car or not. I do not believe it is so easy to simply call a taxi as it is at home but I could well be wrong. Regards.
