View Full Version : Silver Springs
OK, need the low down on Silver Springs - worth it or not?
We have got plenty of time to include it in our itinery. My parents went there about 10 years ago and really loved it but have heard differing opinions of it since then.
So, tell me what you think..........

Sorry we thought it was awful
We had a buy one get one adult free ticket, and boy if we had to pay full price for the 2nd adult would we have been ticked off:(
True its not supposed to be Disney, and is a totally different attraction, BUT
It was old outdated, and rundown. The food in this place was terrible, and didnt hold an interest for any of our party!
Its along way to drive for a TERRIBLE attraction sorry:confused2
There are some other threads about Silver Springs if you do a search. Other people have enjoyed it.

I did it last year with some friends.
It was a nice break from running around the parks, the glass bottom boat was very interesting.
Some people like it, some don't, different strokes for different folks.

Hi again LIsa (Also put this up on your itinery page!!) - don't know too much about Silver Springs, but I've been talking to some friends who went there last year. They reckon about a two hour drive from Orlando & entry costs about $30+ per person - there maybe some money off coupons available in local publications etc so look out for them! They did enjoy their visit, mainly the glass bottom boat ride, the jeep safari & the organised shows, especially the panthers & bird of prey - but they would not rush back there - once seen they believe that there isn't enough to make you want to go back. They do have a web-site at www.silversprings.com & one last piece of advice - my friends made their visit at the weekend - don't make the same mistake - too many locals!!!
We did Silve Springs in 93 & 95 but not since. When we went we booked through Thompson and went on the transport so it was a nice relaxing day for the driver. The 1st time we enjoyed it because it was so relaxing and different to the other parks but 95 we found it a bit boring. On the way back we stopped at a place called Wild Bill's and it was an airboat ride, lots of animals to pet, including a baby alligator called wally, puma and a pot bellied pig called barbie Q and a Bar-B-Q which was brilliant food and this was all in the price.
