Just got back from a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa. They have a great Titanic exhibit running through May 31st. It’s a walk through with mock-ups of cabins and the great staircase, artifacts, etc. They have the real base that the cherub statue rested on at the staircase. They also have an actual 23 by 12 foot section of the hull amidships, with broken portholes. Also an “iceberg” at 28 degrees temp. which I could touch for only about 15 seconds. Like the one in Kissimmee (which I haven’t been to) they give you a card with a passenger’s name on it, and you can check to see if they survived.
They also have a couple of Imax films about the Titanic in Florida’s only dome Imax (you’re surrounded by the movie). A great experience. http://www.mosi.org
