View Full Version : Do they smell?
This might sound like a daft question but it is a serious one- does anyone know if the dolphins smell ? ( fishy? ha ha)
I have been told by a friend that they stink although when I was at Seaworld I never noticed any smell at all.
I want to do the dolphin swim at Discovery Cove but if they sink as much as my friend suggests they do then I may reconsider.

Our dolphin (Capricorn) didn't have many teeth - there was a slight fishy smell, but no worse than my dogs fish dog food.......
Thanks, I didn't think they would smell but had to ask the question just in case.

I noticed a very fishy smell at the dolphins in Sea World - might have been all the fish that people were feeding them though!

We have spent a lot of time at the Dolphin Research Centre and I can honestly say that I have never noticed a fishy smell at all. I don't think dolphins smell fishy as they are not fish.....but mammals. (and although some mammals certainly do smell...I have never noticed any offensive aroma lurking around dolphins!)

If they don't smell, how do they tell when their milk in the fridge is off?
That, for those who didn't spot it, is in fact a broad re-working of the old joke:
My dog's got no nose.
How does he smell?
Awful.
Great to know that the music hall tradition lives on, isn't it?
