Hi,
We're staying at the Crowne Plaza Universal from 11 June - 25 June, would love to hear from anyone who has stayed there as to what it's like.
Also, would love to know what is local (within walking distance) to the hotel in the form of entertainment, shops, bars & resteraunts.
Cheers,
Dave.

Hi Dave,
We're also staying at the Crowne Plaza Universal, but not until October (10th-24th) Seems so far away justnow! Have you looked up tripadvisor.com? They have loads of reviews on the hotel & they're all very complimentary. Can't wait to go, this will be our first time to Orlando & I'd love to hear reviews about the hotel & what's nearby from anyone who's stayed there too!

Well you will love Orlando!! This is my 7th visit, girlfriends 3rd.
I have always stayed on Hwy 192 in Kissimme with one exception last year at the Double Tree Club. Neither of these places were very good for places to visit on foot, and now and again I'd like to leave the car at the hotel, that's why I've picked the Crowne Plaza Universal for this trip.
Anyway still looking for that info if anyone has any.
Dave.

You're in luck - just got back last week from there!
Hotel is lovely - I-Drive is just 10 mins walk away but there is trolley stop just outside for the green line - main line is around the corner on I-drive.
Ponderosa and Sizzlers are about 15 mins walk or 3 stops away going right up i-drive or about 4 stops going left. Wet'n wild is about 20-25 mins walk unless you're energetic about it!!
Olive Garden, Cafe Tu Tu Tango , Bahama Breeze and Race Rock are all about 15 - 20 mins walk away. There is the Mercado(bleh), Hard Rock Vault, Skull Kingdom, Ripleys, Wonderworld - all within walking distance or again can get trolley to easily.
Hotel has a lovely big clean pool, with loads of loungers, restaurant is good for breakfast or you can go down in the morning and pick up a coffee and muffins to take out for a few dollars from there. Little cafe onsites as well - open 10-11(Ithink) sells coffee pixxa, pretze;ls and snacks. and the ubiquitous gift shop.
There is a concierge for tickets but don't be fooled by the person at the same desk who is the timeshare agent for Sheraton - unless you want to waste a couple of hours - I did - boring but at least you get a free b/fast and $50 or a discount on tickets. Concierge is only there 8-5(again I can't be sure about this)
Comlementary bus to the Flex destinations about 5 times a day - stop G at Universal.
Rooms are big and clean - not too good on the complementary stuff - loads of soap but only got 1 shampoo and body lotion the whole time. Iron and board, hairdryer and complementary safe in room. Beds are so comfy as well plus a lovely big armchair with footstool. Tv is OK - no WBN tho and you can access emails and internet for $10 for 24 hrs via tv.
Think that's about it - ask if you have any q's.
