With an iPod touch you can only access the wireless in an area that already provides wireless internet. ie your house, Starbucks etc

You dont get charged for the connection, unless otherwised advertised in a store for example
I bought our DD one 2 weeks ago for her 13th bday.
She loves it :) .Wireless access to internet if you have a connection. We have broadband so "free" to use at home .Wifi hotspots in hotels etc often for a small fee.
It has a you tube link so easy.
We bought the 2nd gen so has built in speakers .
Uses safari (kind of like google) she tells me.
I cant get near it to have a shot so must be good. :d:
I might get her nano a "hand me down"

When you first turn the Touch on and select Safari (Apples web browser) it will detect any wireless broadband connection available. Select your own (or whatever is offered if you're out and about at a place that offers internet connection). Your home connection should be protected so you'll need to enter your wireless key number. After you've done that it will connect automatically each time you open Safari, You Tube, iTunes or your mail.

As others have said the touch will only connect to a wifi hotspot. You would need the iphone to be able to get internet on the move and then your data allowances will come in your phone package.

The terms and conditions of the Argos deal say you can't buy it using gift vouchers, they've wised up it seems! :d:

I know but apparantly in some stores they are still giving them to you so I suppoese its worth just picking up £100's worth just to see as you're going to e spending them anyway  thats if you get a store that have any left.
If you order it to pick up you also receive a £10 gift voucher to collect in store. So thats how some people have ended up with £25's worht og vouchers ;)
This deal is Hot hot hot on hotukdeals so much so that I have one on reserve but am not sure if I'm going to pick it up as my DS wants the ipod nano 16gb. I ran the idea past him last night of "wouldn't you prefer a Touch?" but he came back with a big fat "No" :confused2
So now I might have a reserved number going spare.

I've had my iPod Touch 2nd gen for about 3 weeks now . . . love it, love it, love it :spin:
I've sussed out how to create mp4 movie files and watching them on the detailed screen is amazing. I've got ALL my music on . . and the graphics for the games is just stunning.
I've been amusing all my mates with the "beer" game.
It's great for the internet and everything is easily readable.
And photo's . . you can keep albums on there and quickly zoom in just by touching the screen . . it's all very intuitive and friendly to use.
And, it looks dead sexy !
