In 30 days (see countdown!!) we will be heading off to PORS. There are three of us Me, Lorna and Zack who is 20 months old. We have gone with a standard room to save some cash.
Does anyone have any recommendations for what building number we should request to make sure we are not too far from buses and the main buildings. If anyone has a specific room they stayed in which was in a good position then let me know.
Thanks
Kai

I belive that families of 4 or 5 are put into Alligator bayou, whilst couples / small families are in the mansions.
I fancy Oak manor for me and DH.
We were in Magnolia Terrace rooms 8501/8502 and it was perfect, right next to the east depot stop and lobby and shop area.

We love the mansions personally. Oak Manor and Magnolia Terace being our faves. Only a short walk to bus stops, main pool and the main building.
Oh man, i really miss it :(

We've stayed near the Oak Manor section in Parterre Place twice and its a great location just over the bridge to the food court and main bus stops etc.

We've stayed in Parterre Place twice now. The first time adjacent to the pool, the last time at the other end of the building - didn't matter as Faye was resident for most of the stay!! Would always recommend using the South Depot to get the bus.

It's best to fax a request about 3 or 4 days before you go.
I faxed a request for Alligator Bayou, near the main building. We were allocated Building 16 with a view of the gardens and pool and a short walk to the main building and island, it's lovely location and we'd love to stay there again. Requests are not guaranteed, but there's no harm in asking.
Andres website gives advice and maps on both POR and POFQ and its worth looking at.

We stayed in building 18 room 1848 in 2008 (a corner room and there was a quiet pool near).

We are a family of four (DD 7 and DS 3) and stayed in a ground floor room (had a buggy for DS) in Oak Manor. It was just perfect. Just over the bridge to the lobby and food court and just 30 second walk from one of the quieter pools.
*sigh* Wish I was there now.
Hope you have a fantastic time, its a beautiful resort xx

Myself and my 2 teenage Daughters are due to stay here in August.
They are both desperate to stay in the Alligator Bayou part of the resort.
Does anyone have the number you would need to put in to fax them?? ( ive never sent a fax before)
I might try faxing a few days before my visit and put in a request, it cant hurt to ask.

If you look on the left of this page under Disney Resorts you will find the number. The info you need should be on www.portorleans.org as well.
My kids loved Alligator Bayou, though the Mansions are very pretty.

We were in Alligator Bayou, building 17 ground floor corner room, a stone's throw from bus stop, food court and quiet pool, parking right outside.

Nearest buildings to the food court and main bus stop would be Alligator Bayou buildings 14, 15 & 16, if you want to be in the mansions on the other side of the river buildings 81 or 85 would be good.
