HI, just wondered if anyone has booked this option or do you book 'normal' rooms and put in a request. I have never been and not sure which is the best option! Also can you get interconnecting rooms here?

Thanks

We just book standard rooms and then we have emailed Disney with the request for a specific block in our case Toy Story .... is the one the boys go for. We have always travelled with my parents in 2 rooms and had interconnecting rooms everytime again I mention it on the email and at check in. Disney seem really good with these things.

we booked a preferred room for our first stay at pop, im hoping we get a good room as its our honeymoon.

Is there anyway of finding out where you are staying before you check-in?

Top tip. DON'T book and pay for a prefered room at Movies. When you get there...request a room in the Mighty Ducks buildings. These are not listed as prefered BUT they have their own pool and are pretty much the closest rooms to the Music main building and certainly the best placed building for the Movies bus stop.

Would recommend it every time. Quiet and yet 2 mins to get drinks, food and busses. :thumbs-up

We stayed in Mighty Ducks too and found it a great location, it's not a preferred location. We had 2 connecting rooms one with a king bed and one with 2 doubles, I believe you can also have 2 double bed rooms connecting.

I would echo what others have said - in my opinion, it is not worth the extra money for the preferred location UNLESS you have a specific building you want. We have stayed in Dalmatians at ASMo, which is preferred, but before it was (if that makes sense) and, whilst it was an alright location, there are plenty of others I would have been just as happy with. Personally, I wouldn't want to be right next to the main pool anyway because of the noise.

I can't believe Dalmations is preferred?!? They do pick some strange choices don't they.

Heres a link to an All Star map. If you look in the bottom left hand corner is has all three resorts together...the Mighty Duck buildings are the furthest north of the Movies. As you can see, its closer to the Music facilities than pretty much all the music buildings! Its also one of the least requested blocks due to theming so you should have no problem getting connecting rooms there. I'll admit to being annoyed when first placed there as like everyone I wanted the Toy Story block, in the end I was very pleased indeed.

When they seperate up the busses (which they can do when busy) you have a choice of which ones to get on too...but on the way TO the parks we always went to Music as it was just closer.

Oooh, one thing I loves about the All stars. When staying in the Movies, I used to be greeted by armadillos on the way to breakfast in the morning....thats sooo cool :D

We stayed in the toy story section and thought it was great just a short walk to the food court.

Each time we have stayed in movies we have requested a room in the toy story area, and every time we have been lucky enough to get rooms where we wanted. We have had connecting rooms each time and twice we have asked for 3 rooms together and have never been dissapointed. We have never payed for the privalidge as yet though and dont think that I would, as we would be happy anywhere on that resort.

Would i be right in saying that the movies is the furthest away resort of all the all stars? im just a little confused cos the mightyducks seem to be at the back of the building. Once i have seen it for myself then i'll understand it more. I suppose toy story would be nice since it's the film kids recognise the most, but then on a busy day coming back from the park you just want to fall into bed....

We stayed in Movies for 2 nights in October 2007 and got placed in the Mighty Ducks - this is exactly where our kids wanted to be anyway as they love the Mighty ducks movies. Mighty ducks has it's own swimming pool with laundry rooms right beside it.

When we checked in the lady on reception looked surprised that we were happy to be in the Mighty Ducks building.......i suppose most people request Toy Story or some of the other blocks. When we got to our room it was a connecting room (but we didn't need it as we only booked on room).

We've stayed in Mighty Ducks and Dalmations and preferred Mighty Ducks. The pool is great and really quiet, plus you have a choice of using the Movies and Music food halls and bus stops.
