The prices on pool heat varies due to all sorts of different reasons. Some villas have a gas heater which is much more expensive to run than an electric heater. Some villas have a spa that is included in the price, some have a hot tub, some have larger pools, some have solar to assist with the heating - there are all sorts of variances on prices so it depends on what system is in the villa.

Once you arrive you will have details in the villa to the local management company and should be able to book it directly with them. They may charge a fee to come out and turn it on and it may take a day or so to heat up, depending on the weather and type of heater installed.

You can pre-book it with Virgin but I think, judging from previous threads, it is quite expensive once Virgin have added their mark-up. However, if you don't book pool heat there is a very slim chance they can give you a villa that doesn't have a heating system. The chances of this though are very slim.

Hope this helps.

There are also different levels of pool heat
My wife likes ours at around 90F and that is what the guests get as well and our spa is adjustable up to 104F but there is a villa on our estate that was part of the old TCD whose villa pool heat and spa heat was at 83F pool and 91F spa
It is not much when you look at numbers but it may well be worth asking how hot when booking

Virgin are the best people to ask really. Pool heating varies between owners so if you do pay locally then I imagine you will be paying the homes management company, at the rates laid out by the owner.

At the moment you will probably find rates between $25.00 and $35.00per day (sometimes even more) but with the dollar fall and the rise in gas costs that we all seem to be experiencing I would budget on the higher side just in case. Many home owners are reserving the right to increase pool heat costs in the event that gas prices do spiral over the next year.

Of course, you won't be able to get a definite rate from them as they will not know which villa you will be allocated until your arrival.

we were there between 4-18th December in a virgin villa on highland reserve - the cost was $150 per week. The rep who came to get us to sign all the forms on the first morning simply turned the heating on once we had paid and signed the form - be warned however they only accept cash or travellers cheque. That bit annoyed me because I had to part with $300 of my cash on my first day.
