Urgh!! Star Tours in Rehab!!!

Hadn't noticed in an earlier post, so perhaps some of the many of you who are out there the same time as me, haven't either???:confused:

BUT Star Tours in MGM is in rehab from 16 July (1st day there!) until 1 August.:(

Will have to see if we can fit it in at the end of the holiday somehow?!?!?

What a pain, and right in the middle of the peak summer season???:confused2 :cry:

I still haven't seen this officially confirmed but it does look like it is going under rehab

Just read the official page, and there's no mention of Star Tours being closed - is it definate?

The Disney site very often miss items from their pages - not sure if this is by design, after all it's not good advertising ;) :D

the latest on this that I have is

Star Tours will be closed for refurbishment Friday, July 16 through Sunday, August 1 reopening Monday, August 2, 2004.

When these rehabs happen, are they just general maintanance, or do they actually make changes to the ride, or is it either / both?

Most of the rehabs are general periodic maintenance, which normally means, painting, reorganising and minor repairs.

Some rehabs include ride upgrades as in last years TOT rehab which upgraded the ride system.

Sometimes a ride is totally re themed, as in the Alien Encounter which will open as Stitch's Great Escape

The 'It's A Small World Rehab' is quite long and they are renewing the roof along with altering the entry and exit routes to the ride.

I don't mind not going on Star Tours this time but I know lots of people will be gutted (especially if it's a 'first') so let's hope it's a viscious rumour!!! :(
