After reading some of the comments on the Board, we are now considering a ‘flight’ on the Boggy Creek Airboat. They do not have much to say for themselves on their website, so a couple of questions:
Is it just an airboat ride or is there anything else to do/see at the location?
They have two sites. I cannot imagine anyone will have tried them both so what comments do you have about the particular location that you used.
I appreciate that they only leave every 30 minutes so are you able to walk straight onto a boat or could there be a lengthy wait? There will be six of us and we are going in September if that makes any difference.
Sorry. I said a couple of questions and sneaked in three! :p:
Over to you folks…

We have been to both sites and whilst we loved them both preferred the the East Lake Location. Whilst you are waiting there is a giant draughts board you can use. but the wait is never very long.
On our last visit DH and DS also went parasailing and loved it. Was very quiet when we went and they were desparate to sell the parasailing so gave them the airboat ride free provided that they booked the parasail. Don't think that this is normal.
Not much at either site to do except enjoy the tranquility and emptiness. Also fishing and other water sports there.
We wouldn't miss going.
Hi,
We have been to both locations too, we also preferred the East Lake site. There were some pretty big gators out there, some of the water snakes were a bit daunting though!
Its an experience we really enjoyed and wouldn't have missed.
Here's a link my Boggy Creek report and pics (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26726&highlight=boggy)
We thought that Boggy Creek was great and if you go, East Lake fish camp is the better one, remember to try the breakfats at the resturaunt!

We have been it was ok. We found it hard both places so get good directions before you set off. We didn't see much and the resturant/shop/toilets are dirty.

We're doing a Boggy Creek trip in August, combining it with the morning at Gatorland & the airboat in the afternoon. My Aunt took one last year & she thoroughly enjoyed it. :D They have a $2 discount coupon on their web-site www.bcairboats.com/ & a video you can watch!!
..yes, it's worth doing. It's not a full day though... go early (09:00) and you'll probably walk on to the first boat. You'll be done by 10:00 ish, so have virtually the whole of the day remaining!:D
One personal bugbear.... it's not expensive, our guide was great, and they clearly hope for a tip(it's printed on the back of the seats!;) ) I felt it was worth this, and we left about $10 between us. Very few other people bothered, which I felt was a shame...when in Rome, etc.

as posted on the 'kids and airboats' thread...
Look for the coupon books in the various restaurants/visitor centers. There is a $4.00 off coupon in those.
Also, if you have an Entertainment Coupon Book be sure to use the coupon in there. It is a 50% off coupon and is valid for up to 4 people. There are two in the book so it can save quite a bit if you are a large group/family.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Where would I be without all the helpful and knowledgeable folk on the DIBB?

On an Airboat?! LoL Have a great ride :jump:
Highly recommended. We did it for the first time about a week and a half ago and it was amazing. We saw an alligator, bald eagles, different birds, butterflies etc. and once the ear muffs are on, the noise isn`t a problem. There were six of us (me, hubby, our sons 13 & 12 and hubby`s parents) and we sat at the front of the boat. It was really brilliant and we`ll certainly be doing it again next time we go.
