We are thinking of going to either BG or IOA for one day during our trip end July.

Trouble is if their isn't much available for DS (who is in a wheelchair although can walk short distances, has severe learning difficulties & ASD) the day will be a disaster.

DS likes at WDW: BTMRR, SplM, Teacups, Dinosaur, It's a Bugs Life, Buzz Lightyear, all the shows & characters. (Will tolerate simulators)

DS hates at WDW: SM and KRR (hates getting wet although change of clothes usually resolves matter!)

DS can't ride anything that goes upside down or TOT.

Does anyone know if it will be worth going to either of these attractions, bearing in mind DS knows ALL Disney characters but hardly any Universal ones?

Thanks in anticipation

HI

My two boys love Busch Gardens. There is a nice train ride your son may enjoy. Also maybe a ride in a sky car, overlooking the animals. Rhino rally which is a mini safari in a jeep is good when working althougha little rough as its a real four wheeler truck.

There are a number or roller coasters but a lot of them go up side down although Gwazi an old wooden one is fast but jerky but does not go upside down.

There are three wet rides and you do get wet so they are out. There is a fair ground bit with twisty rides etc my boys love those.

A nice bird feeding avairy where you get nectar to feed the birds although they do flap round your head. There is an OK 4D show based on a haunted light house.

In IOA your son I am sure would like Spiderman. Hulk and Doomfall are too big and Hulk is upside down. Bil barges and rip saw falls...you get VERY wet on them. Jurassic Park is good..not too wet and a drop like splash mountain. Pteredon flyers is good but its just a 50 second ride with no fast pass. The queue is usually enourmous. Dragons goes upside down, however unicorns would be ok.Sinbad is a show which is loud but OK and so is............ .....i cannot think of the name but it is a walk through water show..a bit intense and loud.

Dr Sues land would be enjoyed as it has lots of colours and spinny type rides.

I suppose all in all both parks have a similar amount of rides suitable for your son. IOA is much closer than BG, which is about an hours drive away( depending on the roadworks )

Hope this helps

I guess it really depends on whether he minds the journey, when we went to Busch Gardens last October there must have been a hugh pile up on the I4 and it took us nearly 3 hours to get home - and we had a ps at Chef Mickeys! Very Stressful end to a pleasant day!!!
