I was just wondering as my holiday drew near whether any of you have ever had a bad hotal experience in Orlando , or the hotel did not quite live up to your expectations. I will be staying as part of my holiday in Homewood, I Drive and was quite shocked to see this unflattering report below (7th down)

I spoke to Colette about this who couldnt believe it either.
Still I am sure it is unrepresentative as all the others seem to sing its praises.
What about hotels you have stayed in?

Surely it would be better to find people's good experiences. Do you want to worry that your hotel will be horrible? People have different opinions on everything - pessimists and optimists! Cup half empty or half full. Concentrate on the good things rather than the bad and make your own opinion when you get there.

Princess Scarlett, I HAVE looked at all the good experiences and that is why I chose the hotel! However when you find a recent experience like that you look for reassurance. That is why I PMed a board member who reassured me.
It just set me thinking if any Dibbers DID have bad experiences. That was the reason I asked the question. :D

I would not pay too much attention to that odd report in Tripadvisor...note that the one bad report was from someone from New York !!! There were other good reports on the Homewood from all the other guests. I do find people on Trip advisor very critical !!

we had a bad trip with the Sheraton World Resort. Have a look at the reports....not the odd one bad report but a general consensus!! I think if it is a bad hotel then there would be more than one person putting on a bad report.

I have looked at the Sheraton reports Denise and they are not good on the whole -are they?!!
Im not too worried at all now. I saw the write up first on the Dis boards and then on Trip Advisor so I reckon it was a one off. I feel better now!

We looked on Tripadvisor for our Hotel in Majorca and the most comprehensive report was quite critical of the food especially , while others said be prepared to put on weight!
We needn't have worried. The buffet was fantastic. Hot food was very hot and cold food very cold with different choices every day for 2 weeks. It was Fantastic value for money.
Don't take too much notice of other people's opinions.
In general the Hotels in Orlando are of a good to excellent standard and if there is a problem report it politely but firmly and it will be dealt with.
You'll be much too busy having fun to worry about it.

We researched for months before we booked homewood suites on I-Drive, and have read loads of trip reports, and only found this one bad report on trip advisers. As stated by someone else on the trip advisers web site, it must be a mistake as everyone else seems to rave about it. Can't wait to get there!

I just booked the cheapest holiday to Orlando I could find in April and ended up at Days Inn Lakeside. I wish I had read Tripadvisor before I booked as the reports are pritty true.

We stayed at Embassey Suites I Drive and everything was very good about the Hotel except,The rooms did not have Double Glazing and were of the Sliding type which did not close tight we tried 3 different rooms and the traffic noise was so bad we slept in the living room.
