View Full Version : Fairfield Inn LBV
Just wondered if anyone has stayed here recently. I read a report on trip adviser which said that they had stayed in a king size room and it showed pictures with a microwave.
As there are only 2 of us and we dont need 2 double beds I wanted to know if we would have to pay extra for one of these rooms and how we would request one. Do we wait till we arrive and ask at reception or shall I e-mail the hotel direct.
Would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Hi, there was a good thread a few days ago about this hotel. We came back a couple of weeks ago after spending a week here at found it to be very good. We had a "normal" room and it had 2 beds, a fridge, iron & board, free safe box downstairs, free brekkie. All in all it was very convenient for the parks, minutes from DTD and had a free shuttle to the parks, which we didn't use.

Im going there in August for two weeks, really can#t wait for the change in location and fromwhat i've been reading on trip advisor, the reviews are great. The only thing is the small fridge whereas when we were staying at the comfort suites in kissimmee, it was much bigger but hey can't complain it's right next door to the golden coral and bahama breeze!

We are staying here in June and have requested a kingsize bed room.
We stayed here in 2007 and had a double room, which was great.
How did you request the king size room?
Did you contact the hotel direct?

I requested it when I booked and I also contacted the hotel to put the request in.
Hi - we will be at the hotel the same time as you and stayed there last year for the first two weeks of May as well. We had two different double rooms on the same floor - moved after a day from the first, which was much bigger than the second, but the second was in a very quiet position. We prefer two beds to more space in the room so never requested a King. When we moved we just went down to reception and they moved us straight away.
Might see you at the pool or at breakfast.
Thanks PAW why were you moved from the first room, keep hearing lots of reports of school parties staying there and making lots of noise. What is your experience of this?
I will shout your name when we go for breakfast on the first day (only kidding, honest !! )

We have stayed there for the last three years, always from April into May. There have been large school parties every time, but only over weekends, and we never found them disruptive. I think they tended to be allocated rooms on the higher floors, and we always chose rooms on the ground floor (remember this is called the first floor!). It could be busy at breakfast, but join Marriott Rewards programme (free) and you get 'reserved' seating in a cordoned area. And given that the breakfast was free, we couldn't complain. It's a great hotel, and I would recommend it to anyone.

hi we have stayed at the marriott site 3 times at the springhill hotel ( 3 hotels share 1 site) you can use the pools at all 3 hotels which is good for a change of scene, the breakfasts are excellent. There is an onsite food court for emergencies when you are too tired to go out!!
The school parties are not noisy and tend to be in the pool area of an evening ...it was nice to see them so well supervised and polite.
i am very jealous!!! any room in your bag??

There were loads of school parties last year but they were young teens about to move up to high school and their behaviour was impeccable. They came down to breakfast about 8 so if you came earlier or after 8.30 you didn't see them until the evening when they went in the pool. We some in the room next door and didn't have any reason to complain.
Our first night was in an excellent room but on a corridor with the Atlanta Braves Football team who were training in Disney. They were partying all night, boom box going, shouting, slamming doors and running between room - except when security appeared, they seemed to know when they were coming and it was silent then started up again 5 minutes later. Then they got up at 5 in the morning and put on their boom box again. I totally lost it and was banging on their doors telling them to be quiet.
I went down at 7 in the morning and we were in a different room by 8. Hotel security came to see us and were very apologetic and the team manager was informed and some of the team got in trouble as they were not allowed to party when training.
anyone ! how does the safe deposit thing work at the fairfield inn ? do we get our on box in reception or is it a room with boxes in that we can get to ?
The safety deposit boxes are behind reception. You just ask for it, sign a form and they put it on the desk for you to open. No separate room. There are various box sizes.
