Codes for Booking Accommodation

Some of you have mentioned using codes when booking online - e.g. through Alpharooms, Hotelopia etc.

I'm curious to know how one goes about obtaining a code! :confused2

I got this one http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/hotel-sales (hope it is ok to post link) from Money Saving Expert for £10 off per night at Hotels.co.uk

I booked my hotel again and then cancelled the first booking I had made and saved myself £42 between the two bookings (I think the price had gone down a bit then saved £30 for the 3 nights).
