Do the theme parks offer "Rider Friends" at all?
I was just wondering. Bit scared of some of the roller coaster rides and my hubby had a head injury last year so he's a bit dubious about the really fast upside down rides. Just a bit concerned my little girl will miss out on some of the things.
I thought possibly one of the staff could get on the rides with her or am I being too over-presumptuous??????

Disney offer a service where you can hire a "friend" for part of the day.
The service is a guide who will take you around the park and go on the rides with you. You still have to join lines for each attraction.
I have no idea where you can find out more about this service - sorry

Maybe that's the business idea I've been looking for!!!! We are hopeful to be living back in Orlando this time next year and since joining this website I have been trying to think of the one thing that is missing for UK visitors (doesn't have to be UK visitors either). Maybe a 'rent a friend/guide' might be a good answer. Someone who knows the parks inside and out, can hold the bags while the group rides, ride with a child, run for a drink/snack, etc.
Hmmmmm something to think about. I know there has to be something!!!

I don;t know about this but what you could do is join the line with her so that she had company until the last minute and then use the chicken exit whilst she went on the ride. With most of the fast (and upside down) rides there is no chance of any interaction with anyone else on the ride anyway so she probably wouldn't miss you. It's the waiting that's the long bit.

I meant to suggest that same thing in my above post. I've seen several parents use this option. I'm sure if you ask when entering the line they will tell you it shouldn't be a problem. In fact, if she is going to ride alone I would ask if you can wait in the single rider line as she'll get through quicker anyway.

Been looking on the web and the only thing I can see might be this.
VIP Tours—Custom-designed four- to eight-hour tours may be booked by individuals or groups of up to ten people. Tours lasting longer than four hours must include a meal. Cost is about $45 per hour per tour guide and does not include park admission. VIP Tours may be booked from 48 hours to six months in advance through Disney Special Activities at 407-939-8687.
When it says custom.. I assume it means you can go wherever you want.

How old is your DD?
I'd just join the queues with her and get to know the groups in front and behind as you are queuing. You will find a group of happy to let her be one of them, I'm sure. DH and I went on Kraken with a lone rider who was too scared to ride alone - we sat her between us and we all had a ball!
The single rider line will be fine as you just chicken out when it's time to be seated, but she won't have got time to know the people she'll be riding with. Having said that you don't get much time for interaction during the rides anyway.
Or you could ride with her :D

I agree with edie...Just join the queue with them and exit before riding ...rides like Kraken are over pretty quick once they start(1m20secs)..so she wouldnt have much time with strangers etc..

Thats what i plan to do on Mission Space and any circular rides ....queue up and make sure the boys get on ok and then go to the exit.
You can actually rent " a mothers helper" from Kids nite out and take them to the Theme Parks with you ...but its expensive and you have to buy them a ticket to enter!!!

I'm not 100% but I think Seaworld might operate a friend type system.
When we were queing for Kraken (last month) there was a young boy and a Seaworld employee who rode together. He seemed to be looking after the young boy (who was aged approx 10 years)
