My DD got hers done this year at magic kingdom next to POTC. They charge a certain amount per inch of braiding. She also chose some beads to go on the end.

This is the pic of our oldest DD who had her hair braided (half head) while we were away.....they call this braiding and the other sort a 'wrap' where the strands of hair get wrapped with thread, if you know what I mean!
Be warned - it's not cheap! LOL

Was it hard to manage afterwards Alison???
Alison is still in bed so I'll answer! - ;)
Maintenence was to put hair gel on the braids and use a bandana to sleep in.
My 16 year old DD had her hair braided it cost $55 and it lasted only one day, all she did all night was moan about how uncomfortable they were and took them out the day after!!!!!!
Yes - both DDs did say that it HURT BAD - but they just suffered for fashion
The pain gradually got better for them as the days went by.
I don't know if DD could tolerate the pain ( she is only six) but I know I will feel the pain if it costs $100 for just a day!

Another tip we got was not to wet the hair for a few days to make them last a bit longer...but our DD wouldnt stay out of the pools...
And she also found it painful and took them out after a week...
Do shop about cos we found prices varied quite a bit!!!

Thanks guys - if it is painfull DS won't go for them. Also I wouldn't fancy spending $100 to have to take them out the next day coz they hurt

There is a place called sugar and spice on I drive that do all sorts of girly things
Alison,
When we were in Salou last year, everyone was having it done and I thought it looked really nice, but my daughter would not have it done. Would have had it done myself. but my hair is very short(can't get a clip in it, let alone a braid!!!)
Your daughters hair looks very nice.

My niece had hers done for $50 at IOA. She kept them in less than a week because it hurt so much. Later in the holiday she found a place at Florida Mall which did it for much less - about $30 I think.

I got my hair braided in Salou (whole head) it took forever for the lady to do it (bout 3-4 hours) that was with shoulder length hair. It hurt that much afterwards and i had such an uncomfortable night trying to sleep with them that the next morning when i got up i took them out. It cost £80!!!!
I spent the rest of the holiday avoiding the place and women who briaded my hair (not that she would of remebered me.)

my dd also wanted her hair braided when we were at seaworld last year but we were put off by the price and the fact that she cries when i braid her her.
so she made do with a tempory tattoo and hair braiding by mother for free.
I got my hair braided at Old Town!!! While i was there. But i later saw it being done at Sea World.
:jump:
They do it at a shop in Old town (good if you are staying in Kissimmee) and it was really cheap (can't remember how much exactly tho...)
AND you don't have to waste 'day' time as the rest of the party can woner round the shops etc in the evening whilst it is being done!

My DD had her hair braided in St Lucia, she has very long hair and it took 2 local ladies almost 3 hours to do, but she didn't suffer any discomfort at all and was upset when I insisted on taking them out 2 weeks later.

I had my hair branded a few years ago in Jamaica and although it was a tad uncomfortable at night - it was nothing I couldn't put up with - I only took them out to come back home through customs - not that I had anything but I think it just points you oput to customs and save the hassle.

Glad my two DD's are past this stage!! Every holiday they had to have their hair braided - not any more "it's just not fashion" ;)
