Just returned from holiday. Univeral express pass was brilliant. An extra £20 each to get onto the rides without hardly a queue. Are Disney going to copy? It made such a difference.

..I doubt Disney will follow suit, to be honest, as they are still (just?) ahead of the game. We've just enjoyed the all day UE priveilge by being Universal Guests... I suppose if Dis copied that idea the extra volume of so many Dis hotel spaces (as opposed to just the 3 Univ ones) would swamp the rides and lessen the advantages.

I've just tried to book a single night at Universal RPR next year (Easter) to repeat this, but had to book two, as they are tightening up on single - nighters, especially at main holiday times.... start of a slippery slope, maybe? ... so maybe FOTL may not last forever at Universal either! Get in there while you can!

we have used the universal express pass before and thought it was great.

However like Mike we want to stay onsite at Universal next yr to get FOTL ALL day.

Were you able to get AP discount for your rooms yet mike?

We also bought universal express tickets at 35 dollars each, worth it if you can afford them, but we didn't buy them for all 6 of us though, instead got some fast pass tickets for later on in the day, there is a certain amount of pleasure bypassing the queues, too hot to queue for long.

Universal have a 'FastPass' system, free to guests, called Universal Express. Like FP, you get them from machines near the rides, and can have one at a time. Two main differences... Universal hotel guests get all day UE passes to all rides, and, anyone can buy a pack of UE passes at the gate, for $15 - $25 (it varies) which allows one ride per attraction.

Hope this helps!

we did look at these when we went last month but at $35 each and there was 4 of us it did work out quite exspensive. Also they will only let you get on each ride only once and only valid in the park where you brought it and for that day only. which we did not think was worth the money as we already paid for originall passes (Orlando Flexi ticket)

They say you can only go on once, but very few marked on that we had been on and you can still get the normal express tickets. Not valid for Shrek 4D though!
Some rides at IOA they swiped the cards to register that we had been on but if you dont all want to go on all the rides you can use the others to go on again!
Definitely worth the extra in the heat.
