I know some of you are going to the QIP this year and there are people who are a little put off by reviews on this hotel as it doesn't always get good reviews.
Well we arrived home yesterday after yet another Brilliant holiday at the QIP.
We arrived on the 2nd May, we were determined to get a room in Block F or G, or the closest block to them being E. There was no way we were going into Block A or B (or so we thought). When we arrived we went straight to reception, we had been allocated a room in Block A (1602). We asked if we could be moved to Block F or G but were told that this was still being refurbished (will be finished by end of May). We then asked for a room in Block E and was told that this would be an old style room(Block C/D/E aren't due to be refurbished until 2010). The receptionist asked us to try 1602 and if we didn't like it she would move us the next day. Well too tired to argue we pulled our cases to room 1602 and must admit we were pleasantly surprised. All in dark wood with mustard coloured walls. The new refurbished rooms are lovely. Room 1602 was on the top floor of Block A nearest I-Drive, I would recommend it. It was quiet, you couldn't hear any traffic only the occasional cop car on I-Drive and there is a single lift at this end of the building.
So here goes with the photos, please excuse any clothes etc dotted around the room:d::d:

There are sliding doors which open to the bathroom (which is the only failing - it has been made quite small, but then again you don't live in the loo!!), there is a sink, large mirror, microwave, fridge and coffee making facilities.
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn120/Benno68/S5001283.jpg
New updated safes, no longer have keys you tap in your own personal safe number. Ours was located between the beds in a cabinet.
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn120/Benno68/S5001277.jpg
2 Queen sized beds with new large headboards
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn120/Benno68/S5001276.jpg
Lovely new decor. I loved this wacky leather/cloth armchair. It was right next to the new digital A/C and so lovely to sit in after a hot day at the parks.
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn120/Benno68/S5001274.jpg
A real wardrobe,it's great with plenty of space but only 12 coat hangers The TV is still the old style but you now have 34 channels all watchable, NO MORE SNOW!! .
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn120/Benno68/S5001273.jpg
And finally the computer desk with green computer chair that glows in the dark. Every night for a fornight we would wonder at the glow in the dark chair until a couple of nights before we left we realised there was a modem under the desk that lit up the chair:d::d::stupid:
So guys if you do have any doubts, don't worry the QIP is fine and dandy. Blocks A and B have been refurbished, F and G will be done by end of May and C/D/E will be done 2010.
So it's a big thumbs up for the QIP.

Thanks for the photos and the update. Looks much better than the old rooms. I think we must have been in block a when we went 6 years ago as we overlooked int drive and the entrance to Pointe Orlando. Going back in August so think we will have to request that block. Hope you had a fab hol

Jo, You really will see an improvement in the rooms. Our friends insisted in going into Block E while we were there, we went up to see them and the rooms really did seem a little old and tired.
There are a few rooms on the bottom floor - 1100/1102/1104 that are slightly different, but I believe that the QIP decorated a few rooms and then decieded which they prefered and all room will be decorated like the prefered room.
We had friends stopping in room 1104, this was also nice but slightly different to ours, it was also quiet and they had their own little garden at the front. I think the further you are away from the I -Drive end and nearer to the pool it must get slightly noisier. The pool now opens until 10pm so youo will get noise from the pool until quite late now (I think it used to be 9pm)

The rooms are nice, they were needing a change, I wonder if they are refurbing Quality Inn International as well as they looked to be starting some work the last time we were there

Oh what a massive improvement!!!! Thats a great move for them as we have stayed here before and the location is excellent, so by updating the rooms, which look lovely now, is a great move for them!

Wishing everyone going here a lovely holiday and make sure you get a refurbed room!!!!

The imporovements look great. We stayed in Block A, on the top floor in Sept 07, and although yes the rooms were a little out dated, the room was spot on. Clean, tidy, everything in working order. It was also lovely and quiet, and towards the I-Drive end.

We have just stayed in block B was close to the motorway which at first we were worried about, but could not hear the traffic noise when we had the air con on and slept really well. Would definatley stay at QIP again. The only problem we had was with the cash machine in the hotel lobby we requested $100 but only gave us $20 then the machine reset but still took $80 off our balance . Luckly we had got the reciepts to prove this and our card company will try and get the money back to us.

That's great news - thanks for sharing your photos.

We disliked our time here in 2007, but if we had had a better room, we'd have had a better time.

It's good to see that the QIP is finding ways to improve things & hopefully this'll put a lot of DIBBer's minds at ease. I'd hate it if any of my posts would have put off anyone from coming here.

We stayed here 23rd July-6th August, rooms were good a lot better than I was expecting. Plenty big enough for 2 adults and DD (18). Beds were very comfy.Fridge was great lots of cold drinks. Showers were powerful and always had lots of hot water (as long as DH didn't put the sink tap on whilst I was showering). Excellant position on I-Drive we walked most days to Seaworld and then took the Lynx to Disney.

Hi, How far is sea world from QIP ? Is it too far for children of 9 & 11 to walk, how long roughly would it take ?

We walked it each morning took about 40 minutes at a comfortable pace always away from QIP by 8am.
If you get the I-trolley it takes you directly to Seaworld on the red south line. Red north coming back to I-stop 23, or green north returning to 12A and walking through Pointe Orlando to QIP.

Sorry for the doubt, but are you sure they are queen sized beds? they look like doubles to me, we normally always stay at the qii, and as you all know they only have doubles, which after sleeping in a kingsize bed a double is not that comfortable

I wouldn't walk. It's just too hot and i my opinion it is much to far to walk before you even start the day at the park.
Hop on the I-Ride it takes you straight to Seaworld for $1.25 each way or alternatively get a 14 day I- Ride pass at $17 and you can ride as often as you want:wavey::wavey::wavey:

Just had a look on the QIP website and it states 2 double beds. Sorry:blush::blush: - Maybe they seem bigger because Alec and myself have a bed each when we are on holiday instead of our usual King Size shared at home.
We have however had a Super King Size at the QIP in Block G when it was the Executive Rooms. We could have got Alec, Myself, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Goldilock and the Three Bears in it with plenty of space to boot:d::d::d:

Awww started to get excited then at the thought of having extra room in bed and not having to put up with the hubby snoring right in my ear, lol , I think its the only time you realise how much more room you have in a kingsize bed, Do you know if they have these executive suites on the ground floor with pool facing views? just wondering if i should email them and try to request one

oh dear - a double bed is going to seem so small in comparison to my super king at home.

Didn't everything in the US used to be much bigger than the UK? Seems like we are taking over;)
