has anyone stayed in the la quinta in lakeside as i am thinking about going to wdw in feb 2005 my husband does not want to drive will we have trouble getting about from thid one

Never actually stayed there, but have visited a few times (on our wedding trip, the photographer was based in this hotel, then called the Sheraton Lakeside). It seemed OK, but not as pleasant as other Sheratons in the WDW area. I would say for a non driving hotel, you may need to rethink. A better bet maybe either something at Lake Buena Vista (Sheraton Safari for example) where you can walk to a lot of restaurants, shops, inc downtown Disney. A better option still would be a hotel in the Downtown Disney area as you can get access to the WDW transportation system from here). If you shop around you can get some brilliant bargains on these hotels.

If you intend to visit the Universal Parks and Seaworld, the an I-Drive hotel with a free shuttle bus might be an option. You can also use the I-trolley which goes from Belz Mall in the north to the Premium Outlets in the south.

Hi Sharon, and welcome to the DIBB:wavey: Are you really against having a car? the only reason I ask is that you will seriously be missing an extra 'side' of Orlando, and it really is very simple to drive there (no Salt Box Hill there either!!). If you do a search on this site regarding non-driving im sure you might feel convinced!
