any one ever eaten at Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. If so what is it like ?
Thanks to those who helped Tanya Boakes this week with the WDW dining resevation no. If she had been unable to book our Fantasmic dinner package i would have been forced to take away her clipboard and pen !!!
Hi
This is one place I would not choose to eat in again. We were seated in an out of the way spot, our meal was rushed with dessert being served while the main course was still on the table.
The food was nothing special and a lot of it smoked. Still there are many Dibbers who have had great meals and service there but we will not be returning.

'Ohana was our favourite meal last trip. We will probably do it a couple of times at Christmas this year.
Although we had a bit of a wait for a table (and I had a PS) it was worth it. We had "the perfect table", overlooking the lake and directly in line with the castle. It was dusk, so we watched the lights come on and change colour. We also got to see the Electrical Water Pageant from our table.
The starter platter consisted of won tons, wings, salads and dips. It was WONDERFUL and had a very oriental flavour. The skewers are brought to your table and there is a choice of prime rib, king prawn, BBQ pork loin or smoked turkey. You are encouraged to have a bit of everything! The rib is served medium, and if you want it "well done" (like my philistine DH) they are happy to do that.
Dessert is either fresh pineapple with a caramel dip (yummy) which is included, or you can order something else from the menu. We stuck with the pineapple and it was sweet and totally heavenly! I would also recommend one of the many cocktails that are available!!
As you can tell, we thoroughly enjoyed 'Ohanas, but I will admit the choices are VERY limited. If you prefer to have more variety in your dishes (or are a veggie) then 'Ohana is not the place for you!!
I think Ohana is pretty good value for money and we always finish our holidays with a last nightmeal there.
Time your meal to conincide with the fireworks at MK and they dimm the lights and pipe the music into the restaurant. After your meal wonder down to the beach and watch the electrical Water Pagent pass by sat on the beach.

What's the best day/time to book at Ohana - would really like to coincide with MK fireworks if possible!
Do we need to make a PS?

Yes, you will need to book. Try to get a table 1 hour or so before Wishes is due to start. You arent guaranteed a window table though.
I also partially agree with Margaret.
We had a meal there but were tucked out of the way and didn't care much for the food or service. Maybe my expectations were too high or we caught it on a bad night as many people here have had a positive experience.
