Hot of the press and great news in my eyes.

California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort now provides a special dining check-in for Guests at the podium located on the resort's second floor. Guests with Priority Seating (or those wishing to enjoy the California Grill lounge) will be escorted to their dining destination by a Cast Member in an elevator exclusively reserved for California Grill diners!

Of course, Guests without Priority Seating arrangements are always welcome; to check on availability, visit the second floor podium. Also, please note that the rooftop terrace area at California Grill and Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing from the restaurant is now available exclusively for California Grill Guests on the evening of their visit to the restaurant.

Last year when we there, lots of people who hadn't booked a table thought it was an open house :nonono:

This is great news indeed jj :jump:
There are always far too many people holding tables in the lounge area - not eating or drinking, just waiting for the fireworks.
A number of times we've visited, intending to have a couple of glasses of wine and some appetisers in the lounge, but it's been majorly hectic up there.
We really want to have a meal in the Cali Grill, the menu looks yummy. But have always been put off by the extremely high noise levels.

We have booked PS for September here, didn't realise they there was a rooftop terrrace, even better.

Can't believe that a character escorts you to your table in a private lift, that's brilliant.

Anybody got any idea how much an average meal would cost. Probably will have main meal and dessert, with a few glasses of wine.

Oh dear, just looked at the menu for California Grill and it all seems to be A La Carte.

My DBF is a very fussy eater and will not entertain A La Carte food, has anybody ever had this predicament before and been able to order for example, steak and chips, or chicken and chips etc.

I am quite a good eater and must admit, I would also like someting a little plainer.

Here is a link to the menu http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_cg.htm

tracy, my mum is the same - a very plain eater. when we went they did a plain fillet steak and jacket potato for her, basically tell them what you want and they'll do their best for you.

Ahh great, DBF say's he's going again now, he threw a tantrum and said he wasn't eating that rubbish (he's 35 next week, too old for tantrums). Oh dear, he's just seen this.

This sounds great, I'm just waiting for my 90 days and I have been itching to book this for ages.
Now it sounds much more of a treat
Thanks JJ for yet more vital info

There is no problem ordering off menu at CG, we have done it several times.

Does anyone know if CG is ok to take children to ? My son will be 3.5 when we go and I really fancy the food/location of the CG(& I'm sure my husband will too)

Also, have never seen MK fireworks - are they on all year ? We go end Oct/start Nov

Thanks
Lisa

They have a children's menu Lisa. Pizza, chicken, fish strips etc.
The fireworks are on every night too.
